Early teenage pregnancy remains one of the leading triggers pushing young girls toward drug abuse and deteriorating mental health. The pain of unplanned parenthood, stigma, and broken futures creates a cycle that is hard to escape alone.
That is why Youth Wamphavu was in Kanyama — not to lecture, but to listen. We sat with the young people of Kanyama, heard their stories, understood their realities, and created a space where their voices mattered.
Because real solutions start with real conversations.

Let's stop the stigmatization of youth who abuse drugs and alcohol in our community. These are our children, our brothers and sisters, and our friends. They deserve understanding, not judgment. When we label and shame them, we push them further away from the help they need. Let's choose compassion over condemnation and work together to create a community where every young person feels safe enough to seek support."
