IMPACT SHARING | 2 OF 5
Beyond the Classroom
When we built the , we quickly realized something important…
Giving a child a classroom is powerful, but it is not enough.
Many of the we were supporting carried invisible burdens. Some had gone through trauma, others struggled with low self-esteem, anxiety, and difficult home environments. This was affecting their attendance, their performance, and their confidence.
So we asked ourselves: how do we support the whole child, not just their education?
That question led us to go deeper.
Together with Children For Health, we co-authored a SuperBetter mental health toolkit designed to help children build resilience, confidence, and emotional wellbeing. We began working directly with learners, helping them understand their feelings, cope with challenges, and believe in themselves again.
And it worked.
Our approach gained recognition at the highest level, including from Mr. John Hecklinger the President and CEO of Global Fund for Children, highlighting the importance of investing in grassroots organizations like ours.
But we didn’t stop there.
Our partnership with Children for Health grew stronger, and together we tackled issues of , ensuring that no child feels left out. We developed inclusive storybooks and learning materials, and carried out community campaigns, workshops, and trainings on key issues such as prevention, , , and , all centered on supporting the child.
We also understood that learning cannot happen without basic needs being met.
Through collaboration with World Vision Zambia in Isoka, we facilitated the drilling of a borehole at the school, providing clean and safe water not only for learners, but for the entire surrounding community. This reduced waterborne diseases, improved hygiene, and restored dignity to daily life.
In addition, we partnered with the Ministry of Health Zambia and Right to Care Zambia in Isoka to conduct large-scale awareness campaigns on mental health and HIV/AIDS. These engagements opened up conversations that were once avoided, reducing stigma, encouraging testing, and promoting healthier lifestyles among youths and community members.
Through all these efforts, we have reached over 5,000 children not just educating them, but supporting their health, confidence, and overall wellbeing.
This is the impact we believe in.
Not just building structures, but building lives.
Not just teaching lessons, but restoring hope.
Not just reaching numbers, but transforming futures.
And we are just getting started.
