It has taken over six months of rigorous due diligence processes and interviews.
Today marks another massive milestone in the existence of T**Z. The Theological Education by Extension in Zambia (T**Z) has been approved as a Charity in the United States of America on a designated Global Platform. This entails that our Theological Education training programs and projects may receive financial support from prospective donors and well wishers for years to come. This undertaking is in line with the 2025 - 2029 Strategic Plan.

We are excited with the step by step progress that is taking place at the T**Z Sustainability Farm in Lufwanyama District. Our focus for now is building two habitable houses for the Production Manager and one support worker. These works once completed will ensure that full fledged Production works start.
We have so far cleared 2 hectares along the Kasungu River for our winter maize which will be planted not later than 10th August.
The T**Z Fundraising Traditional Matebeto Luncheon raised over K80,000 which will be used to drill a 100m Commercial Borehole that will have two 10,000 litre tanks. Water will be pumped from the borehole using a 2.5HP Solar Pump and 4 X 550W Solar Panels.
We are grateful for your support, and we are convinced that our efforts will never and can never be in vain.

Dear T**Z Alumni, Tutors, Students and Friends of T**Z, its exactly 9 days before the first ever T**Z Fundraising event to take place in Kitwe. The event is meant to raise funds towards the operationalization of the T**Z Sustainability Farm in Lufwanyama. Your contributions will make a difference. I would like to appreciate those who have already done so. Please support this noble cause. Its also clear that most congregations chose not to observe T**Z Sunday neither have they remitted T**Z Sunday Offerings, thus affecting the local income generation. This fundraiser, we believe can make a huge difference.
Blessings,
Rev Dr Michael Kalito
T**Z Executive Director

MESSAGE TO ALL T**Z MEMBER CHURCHES ON THE OBSERVATION OF T**Z SUNDAY Sunday, 28th June 2026

Dear Beloved Leaders and Congregations of T**Z Member Churches,

Grace and peace to you in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ.

The Theological Education by Extension in Zambia (T**Z) is grateful to all its Member Churches for the continued partnership, prayers, and support towards the ministry of theological education and formation of Christian leaders in Zambia.

We wish to remind all our Member Churches that Sunday, 28th June 2026, has been designated as T**Z Sunday, a special day when all T**Z congregations will celebrate and reflect on the ministry of T**Z and its contribution to the growth of the Church.

On this important Sunday, we kindly encourage our Member Churches to allow T**Z students, tutors, alumni, and friends of T**Z to take part in leading worship services. Their participation will provide an opportunity to share testimonies, preach the Word of God, and highlight the importance of theological education for effective ministry and mission.

We further appeal to all congregations to generously give T**Z Sunday Offerings towards supporting the ministry of T**Z. These offerings will help strengthen theological training, support students and tutors, and enable T**Z to continue equipping men and women for faithful service in the Church and society.

As we celebrate T**Z Sunday, we give thanks to God for the vision of theological education by extension and for the many lives that have been transformed through this ministry. We pray that your generosity and partnership will continue to make a lasting impact in advancing God’s mission.

We wish all T**Z Worship Leaders a blessed and fruitful ministry as they serve in different congregations on this special Sunday. May the Lord use them mightily for the encouragement and edification of His people.

Thank you for your continued commitment, prayers, and support.

Yours in Christ’s Service,

Rev. Dr. Michael Kalito
Executive Director
Theological Education by Extension in Zambia (T**Z)

Best Practice Learning and Familiarisation Visit.
We are proud to announce that T**Z will for the next 10 days host Rev Dr. Wilbert Chipenyu, the Principal of Dumisani Theological College, Eastern Cape, South Africa.
Our two institutions have been linked by one of our international partners from the Netherlands. During this visit, Dr. Chipenyu will attend a selected number of T**Z Training Programs on the Copperbelt Province. Specific area of interest include T**Z's Church and Community Transformation Training programs especially the BETTER Church and Society. It is hoped that hints from this program will help graduates of Dumisani Theological College to incorporate Personal Economic Development as part of their Theological Curriculum to help pastors seriously rethink what ministry is.
We are proud that our works as T**Z have attracted international recognition.
Rev Dr Michael Kalito
T**Z Executive Director.

In the past week we trained UCZ University Bachelor of Theology Fourth Year Students in the T**Z Tutors Course. The course equipped the soon to graduate student's with Teaching and Training Methodologies in Theological Education by Extension (TEE).
We realise that one of the challenges newly ordained ministers face once posted in rural or peri urban areas is the knowledge gap of the leaders serving in the church.
Receiving training in the Tutors Course will help the students impart knowledge to the saints once stationed. We thankful to the UCZ University Vice Chancellor Prof Jonathan Kangwa for cementing the partnership between our two institutions.

Last Saturday 13th June 2026, we had a fruitful meeting with Lusaka Based T**Z Tutors (46). We discussed many issues including Tutor incentives, Curriculum Review and Development, Review of all Student Assessment Processes, Development of Church Administration Courses covering aspects of individual T**Z Member Church Constitutions and Teaching Methodology retraining of all Tutors in 2027.
All this will culminate into having all T**Z Courses Accredited with the Association for Christian Theological Education in Africa- ACTEA. We have started the process.
We are on a path of transforming TEE in Zambia.

One of our key pillars in the 2025 - 2029 Strategic Plan is to make all T**Z Courses appealing and valuable both to the laity and Clergy. The acquisition of Greek and Hebrew Texts Books through the Bible Society of Zambia Scholarly gift reaffirms our commitment to this reality. In the next few months we are moving to have a complete curriculum review that will introduce both Student and Tutor Training Books in the following courses:
1. Hermeneutics I and II
2. Biblical Preaching
3. New Testament Survey
4. Old Testament Survey
5. Congregation Studies and Church Administration
6. Biblical Counselling and Pastoral Care
7. The Synoptic Gospels
8. Pauline Literature and Epistles
9. Children and Youth Ministry
10. The Church and Personal Economic Development
Be part of this amazing journey. We believe the Lord will help us attain this.

Dear All,
T**Z Sustainability Farm Fundraising
The Theological Education by Extension in Zambia is an ecumenical ministry of ten Member Churches. It was established in 1979 to offer non-residential theological and church and community transformation training programs to ministers and the laity. Over the years T**Z has been donor dependent, a model that is not only dangerous to the institution but also to its training programs. Through support from the Partners in Mission (Dutch Reformed Church) in South Africa T**Z bought in 2025 a 42 Hectare Farm (T**Z Sustainability Farm) to be a business and income generating invest for the institution.
In order to operationalize the farm in the 2026-2027 farming season, we will be holding a Fundraising Traditional Matebeto Luncheon.
Venue: Central African Baptist University (CABU) Link Hall, Along Jambo Drive
Date: Saturday 11th July 2026
Guest of Honour: The Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer, Standard Chartered Bank Zambia, Rev Dr Sonny Zulu.
Guest Band : The Great Masasu Band
Ticket Prices: K500 per Person.
Time: 13:00hrs.
I write to humbly appeal to all or local and international partners and and well wishers to consider supporting this transformative event by buying a ticket or making a contribution or pledge.
Lets together make T**Z a financially sustainable ecumenical institution.
Yours in Ecumenical Service,
Rev Dr Michael Kalito
T**Z Executive Director.
