SHEMA Skills Training & Development We uplift, train, and equip people in the Mapossa , Fisenge and Ikelenge rural areas of Zambia. At present, we have four big clients who purchase hives from us.

SHEMA Skills Training & Development was formed in 2010 with the purpose of uplifting, training, and equipping people in the Mapossa , Fisenge and Ikelenge rural areas of Zambia. We are proud to be the first registered Zambia-based NPO that supports itself through business and not solely on donations. We believe that setting an example in hard, honest work ethics in order for people to also learn t

hrough what they see and experience. One project that lies very close to our hearts involves providing various communities with wooden beehives that we craft ourselves. The hives are purchased from us by corporate sponsors who donate them to the communities. The recipients are not only motivated to preserve the trees the hives hang from, but are also able to generate an income from the honey they sell back to the sponsors twice a year. To date, more than 27,000 have been crafted. A donation of $50 (850 ZMW) covers the costs of a single bee hive and enables us to feed and school three children for a month.
