At CHAPS Youth Innovation Movement, we believe that young people are not only the leaders of tomorrow, but active citizens today. Regardless of the outcome, let us respect the democratic process, embrace one another, and put Zambia’s peace and development above political differences.

Let us avoid spreading unverified information, remain calm, and allow the relevant authorities to communicate official results.

Statement by: Honourable Sambo- Ambassador (Chaps youth innovation movement)

Greetings, ladies and gentlemen, countrymen and women, brothers and sisters, wherever you are watching or listening from.

As Zambia continues through this important electoral period, I want to call upon every citizen, especially young people, to remain calm, peaceful, and responsible.

As the electoral authorities continue with the counting process and communicate official updates, let us exercise patience. If you receive information concerning the electoral process, please do not rush to declare, endorse, or announce anyone as the winner before the relevant authorities officially do so. We may have our own expectations about what is likely to happen, but expectations are not official results.

Sharing unverified information can create unnecessary tension, confusion, and even conflict. Let us therefore allow the electoral authorities to do their work and wait for official communication.

At the same time, I strongly urge everyone to stay away from political violence. No political difference is worth destroying our communities, friendships, families, or our country. Let us respect one another regardless of political affiliation and remember that Zambia belongs to all of us.

Let us choose peace over provocation, unity over division, and responsibility over rumours.

May we allow the electoral process to take its course peacefully, and may we all be ambassadors of peace before, during, and after the elections.

🇿🇲 PEACE OVER VIOLENCE | OUR DEMOCRACY, OUR RESPONSIBILITY 🕊️🗳️

As today marks the end of the rallies, let us all choose peace over violence and remember that our political differences should never divide us as Zambians.

Tomorrow marks the beginning of exercising our democratic rights. Let us go out and participate peacefully, respect one another, and allow every citizen to freely exercise their right to vote.

To our political leaders, we urge you to be ambassadors of peace. Let us respect the will of the people and accept the outcome of the results with maturity, dignity, and patriotism.

Zambia is bigger than any political party or individual. 🇿🇲

Let us remain united, peaceful, and committed to building a Zambia where democracy thrives without violence.

🇿🇲🗳️ YOUTH INVOLVEMENT IN PEACEFUL ELECTIONS

In the early hours of today, our Founder and Executive Director, Mr. Haggai Chapeshamano, together with our Movement Ambassador, Honourable Sambo, had the opportunity to engage listeners on YAR 89.7 FM on the important topic of “Youth Involvement in Peaceful Elections Before, During and After the Polls.”

The discussion emphasized the critical role young people play in promoting peace, tolerance, responsible participation, and unity throughout the electoral process.

As young people, our voices matter, but so does the way we use them. Let us reject violence, respect different political views, encourage peaceful dialogue, and contribute positively to our communities.

To the People of the Republic of Zambia,
​As our nation approaches the general elections on August 13, 2026, we stand at a critical juncture in our democratic journey. Elections are a defining pillar of our democracy—a period to exercise our constitutional rights, voice our aspirations, and choose the leadership that will guide our country forward. However, above all political affiliations, campaigns, and differences of opinion, one standard must unite us all: a commitment to peace.
​Zambia’s proud reputation as a beacon of stability, harmony, and peaceful democratic transitions across Africa is a testament to the resilience and character of our people. The strength of our nation does not lie in division or intimidation, but in our shared values, mutual respect, and the foundational spirit of "One Zambia, One Nation."
​As we prepare to cast our votes on the 13th:
​Choose Unity Over Violence: True democracy is contested with ideas, ballots, and debate—never with violence, provocation, or lawlessness. No political goal or candidate's ambition is worth the safety, security, or lives of our fellow citizens.
​Respect Diverse Opinions: Freedom of choice is the core of a democratic society. Every Zambian has the right to support their preferred candidates without fear of harassment, retaliation, or conflict.
​Protect Our Communities: Young people, community leaders, political party members, and local organizations must stand firm as guardians of peace, actively rejecting disinformation, inflammatory rhetoric, and acts of aggression.
​Accept the Democratic Outcome: Let the electoral process proceed with integrity, transparency, and patience, respecting the law and statutory bodies established to oversee the polls.
​Let us walk to the polling stations on August 13 in dignity, exercise our rights peacefully, and return home with the quiet confidence that the future of Zambia remains secure in our hands. Let us ensure that when this election passes, our unity as brothers and sisters remains unbroken.
​May peace reign in every home, every constituency, and across every corner of Zambia.
