Poverty is more than a lack of money.

When people hear the word poverty, they often think of empty pockets. But poverty goes far beyond finances. It can be a lack of opportunity, mentorship, exposure, networks, and the confidence to turn knowledge into action.

A graduate may have the knowledge and qualifications, yet remain trapped in poverty because they lack guidance, mentorship, or opportunities to apply what they’ve learned.

If we truly want to reduce poverty in Zambia, we must invest in young people, not only through education, but also by providing mentorship, practical skills, and encouraging entrepreneurship. One empowered young person can build a business, create jobs, uplift a family, and inspire an entire community.

The fight against poverty begins when we stop investing only in ideas and start investing in people.
