🎉 A Milestone Worth Celebrating for Rural Focus Zambia (RUFOZ)! 🎉

NOTE: THIS MEETING WAS GRACE BY THE COUNTRY DIRECTOR OF ACTION AID ZAMBIA.

We are deeply honored and grateful to have been selected among many organizations that applied for the Meaningful Youth Participation (MY PART) Project, funded by the European Union through ActionAid Zambia (AAZ).

As the grantee representing Northern Province, RUFOZ will implement the project titled:

"Enhancing Civic Participation in Governance and Accountability in Northern Province"

The project will focus on two key thematic areas:

✅ Advocacy and Good Governance
✅ Human Rights and Livelihoods

This one-year partnership presents an incredible opportunity to amplify youth voices, strengthen accountability mechanisms, and promote inclusive participation in governance and development processes.

We are pleased to share that RUFOZ has successfully completed a rigorous three-day onboarding and orientation meeting held at Grand Palace Hotel in Lusaka from 22nd-24th June 2026. Representing RUFOZ were Richings Mwaba, Deputy Executive Director, and Chibwe Kamanda, Programs Manager.

We extend our sincere appreciation to our Executive Director Mwenya, management, and the entire RUFOZ team for their mentorship, guidance, and unwavering oversight that continue to position our organization for growth and impact. Together, we remain committed to empowering communities, advancing human rights, and creating meaningful opportunities for young people to participate in shaping their future.

The journey has begun, and we look forward to delivering lasting impact across Northern Province.

📢 RUFOZ Promotes Awareness on Violence Against Women in Elections (VAWE)

Rural Focus Zambia (RUFOZ) continues to raise awareness on the prevention of Violence Against Women in Elections (VAWE) through community sensitization and information dissemination. Through the distribution of information materials and the placement of awareness posters, communities are being empowered with knowledge on how to prevent, report, and respond to election-related violence against women.

Women and girls have the right to participate in political and electoral processes free from intimidation, harassment, discrimination, and violence. If you experience or witness Violence Against Women in Elections, support is available.

In Chamboli, we once faced a serious challenge with an illegal landfill that put lives at risk 🚯. But through community advocacy and collective action, that site was successfully removed! 💪🏾
