CLIMATE CHANGE TO THE STREET

We took the message of climate change to the streets of Makululu in Kamanda Market today! The EnviroCast team, together with the Kabwe Youth Network, organized a vibrant campaign to raise awareness about this important issue.

We started with a lively brass band performance that drew in a crowd. The music was energetic, and people couldn't help but stop and listen. Our team then marched from Road One to Road Six, sharing information about climate change and its impacts on our community.

At the market, our team engaged with vendors and children, sharing practical tips on reducing waste and conserving energy. We had productive conversations and answered questions, and the community showed a keen interest in learning more.

The "Climate Change to the Streets" initiative aims to inspire action and promote sustainability in our community. We're encouraged by the response so far and look forward to continuing this important work.

We celebrated International Children's Day in Chibombo District with a fun event! Two schools, Kabwe Youth Network, Environmental Africa staff, and our guest of honor, Chibombo District Commissioner Mr. Royd Kayeka, joined us to mark the day.

The children learned about their rights and the importance of taking care of our environment. They planted trees at Liteta Police station and enjoyed dancing and singing. But that wasn't all - they also put on an amazing show for their fellow students! They performed sketches, recited poems, and sang songs, all highlighting the importance of child rights and the theme "My Day, My Rights".

The performances were a hit, with messages that really hit home. One sketch showed children standing up for their rights, while another poem talked about the importance of education. The children were fully engaged and clearly loved every minute of it!

The Kabwe Youth Network also gave a powerful awareness talk, educating and empowering the children to be the best they can be and to make a positive impact on their generation and the next. Let's keep promoting child rights and sustainability

YOUTH RISING: WE'RE JUST GETTING STARTED!

We're kicking off Global Action Month in style! The Kabwe Youth Network is ON THE MOVE in the Katondo community, kabwe zambia. We just visited Katondo Primary and Secondary School, spreading the word on climate action and empowering young minds to shape our planet's future!

Our team had an insightful engagement with the students, sharing ways to build climate resilience and the importance of youth-led initiatives. We also had the honor of engaging with our Ward Development Committee (WDC) member, Mr. Thomas Dhlamini, who shared his support for our climate initiatives and emphasized the role of community involvement in environmental conservation!

We didn't just stop at words - WE PLANTED TREES! 🌳💚 Around the school and at Katondo Mini Hospital, we're making our environment greener and cleaner! The energy was electric as students, teachers, and community members came together to plant trees, symbolizing our commitment to a sustainable future.

As the world gears up for COP30 in Brazil, we're showing that kabwe, zambian youth are LEADING THE CHARGE! We're not waiting for change - WE'RE THE CHANGE! Join us in amplifying our voices!

As we wrap up Lead Prevention Week 2025, we're buzzing with excitement! Our road show at Indeni Grounds, Makululu Road 12, was a resounding success. We took the theme "NO SAFE LEVELS, ACT NOW TO END LEAD EXPOSURE" to the streets, engaging hundreds of community members, especially children, who are disproportionately affected by lead exposure.

The energy was electric! Through a dynamic fusion of music, drama, and public speaking, we educated and mobilized the community, highlighting the urgent need to prevent lead pollution. Our message was clear: lead exposure violates human rights, and it's everyone's responsibility to act.

The road show was a masterstroke, allowing us to reach a broad audience, including those who might not typically attend formal events. Our team, comprising representatives from the Forestry Department, DAPP, Environment Africa, and Ward Development Committees (WDCs), worked tirelessly to spread awareness and inspire action and later planted trees in different households to promote a green environment in the area

As we conclude Lead Prevention Week 2025, we're reminded that every individual counts in this fight against lead exposure. Let's keep the momentum going! Together, we can create a lead-free future and safeguard the health and well being of our community
