Back to School Youth Initiative Group is a grassroots, youth-driven organization based in Kabwe, Central Province of Zambia, founded in October 2022 and officially registered in April 2023 under the Registrar of Societies. The organization was established by a passionate team of young people committed to creating positive change in communities through education, empowerment, and advocacy.

Our main aim is to bridge the educational gap among young people, promote gender equality, and amplify youth voices in decision-making processes on issues that directly affect them. We work to empower young people with knowledge, skills, and opportunities that help them build a brighter and better future for themselves and their communities

Today, Back to School Youth Initiative had the privilege of hosting a team from ActionAid Zambia for a due diligence assessment following our application for the EU subgrant. It was a powerful learning engagement and a strong reminder that, as a grassroots youth-led organisation, we are steadily growing and moving our vision closer to reality.
We believe this process is opening doors for collaboration, partnerships, and inclusion in important networks that strengthen youth voices and community impact.

Resource mobilization is cardinal to the sustainability and growth of any institution or organization. As a grassroots organization committed to supporting vulnerable learners and empowering young people , the Back to School Youth Initiative Group is organizing a Fundraising Music Concert scheduled for 23rd May 2026 at Mapalo Hall (opposite Shoprite, Kabwe Town).

🎟️ Entry Fee: K25 per person
🎤 Performing Artists: K40 per song performance charge

This fundraising event is aimed at supporting our ongoing educational programs, youth empowerment activities, and community outreach initiatives that continue to make a positive impact in the lives of many young people.

We therefore invite all well-wishers, partners, artists, and members of the public to come through and support this noble cause. Your contribution will help keep a child in school and strengthen our community.

As an organization, we recognize that this date carries deep personal significance for you, as it also marks 3 years since the passing of your beloved father. Even in the midst of such emotional remembrance, your strength, resilience, and commitment to family, youth development, and community service continue to inspire the direction and impact of this organization.

Your father’s strong belief in youth development, leadership, and responsibility continues to live through your dedication to supporting young people to return to school, grow in character, and pursue their future with purpose. Despite the challenges you have carried since that difficult day, you have remained a pillar of strength not only to your family, but also to the many youths whose lives are being transformed through your vision and guidance.

This afternoon, we had a productive engagement meeting with our partner Zambian Governance Foundation and the Consultant at Golden Sonnets Hotel in Kabwe. The meeting focused on data collection as part of the process to develop a Local Resource Mobilization Initiative Strategic Plan.

We are proud to be among the Civil Society Organisations (CSOs) engaged in this important initiative. This engagement reflects the confidence our partners continue to place in youth-driven organisations like ours and stands as a strong testament to our growth, credibility, and commitment to community development.

Together, through collaboration and partnerships, we are building sustainable solutions for the future of our communities.
