Kariba COP - Save the Kabompo River

Kariba COP - Save the Kabompo River This page is a forum for sharing stories in text, pictures and sounds of Zambia's deepest river, The Kabompo, in order to conserve it.

The Kabompo River, Zambia's deepest river, is home to a variety of fish, mammals, reptiles, birds, amphibians, crustacea, plants and microbes. It provides food, water for domestic, agricultural, commercial and industrial benefits, but faces potential threats of shallowing (from erosion, collapsing and silting); pollution (from increasing mining, agricultural and manufacturing waste); drying from deforestation and damming. Let us safeguard our resource. PREVENTION IS BETTER THAN CURE.
