ZNBS TEAM PAYS COURTESY CALL ON COUNCIL SECRETARY

A team from the Zambia National Building Society (ZNBS) paid a courtesy call on Kabompo Town Council Secretary, Kajimo Kahinga, Esq., as part of their visit to the district.

The team briefed the Council Secretary on their partnership with CACTUS and ongoing efforts to market ZNBS products and services at Musamba Market. They highlighted the importance of promoting financial inclusion and expanding access to banking services for traders, entrepreneurs, and members of the public.

Mr. Kahinga welcomed the initiative and commended the partnership for bringing essential financial services closer to the people of Kabompo, thereby contributing to local economic growth and development.

Voter Education Facilitators (VEFs) have intensified voter education activities across Kabompo District in preparation for the 13th August 2026 General Elections.

The facilitators are using various methods, including door-to-door sensitization, community meetings, group discussions, and the distribution of voter education materials to ensure that citizens receive accurate and timely electoral information.

Members of the public are encouraged to engage with the facilitators, ask questions, and make use of the information provided to participate effectively in the electoral process.

KABOMPO TOWN COUNCIL SIGNS CONTRACT TO RESUME STALLED OFFICE BLOCK PROJECT

10th June 2026

Kabompo Town Council has officially signed a contract with "Vitek Construction Limited" to resume works on the Council Office Block project.

Speaking during the contract signing ceremony, Council Secretary Kajimo Kahinga, Esq. expressed confidence that the project would be completed within the agreed timeframe. He noted that the completion of the office block will help address the inadequate office space currently faced by council staff, thereby creating a more conducive working environment and improving service delivery to the residents of Kabompo.

Kahinga-esq further emphasized the Council's commitment to ensuring that stalled development projects are completed for the benefit of the community and the district at large.

The resumption of works marks a significant step towards enhancing administrative efficiency and strengthening local governance in Kabompo District.

D-WASHE COMMITTEE HOLDS COMMUNITY WATER SENSITIZATION MEETINGS IN KABOMPO

The District Water, Sanitation and Hygiene Education (D-WASHE) Committee today conducted community sensitization meetings at water points in Kayombo, Malolwa, and Nyela aimed at strengthening community participation in the management and sustainability of water facilities.

The meetings focused on educating households on the formation of Village Water, Sanitation and Hygiene Education (V-WASHE) Committees, which will be responsible for promoting proper maintenance, effective management, and long-term sustainability of community water points.

Residents welcomed the initiative and actively participated in discussions on water access, community ownership, and accountability. The engagement highlighted the importance of collective responsibility in safeguarding water infrastructure for present and future generations.

The D-WASHE Committee encouraged all households benefiting from the water facilities in Kayombo, Malolwa, and Nyela to take an active role in protecting and maintaining the water points to ensure continued access to clean and safe water.

Together, we can safeguard our water resources and guarantee clean, safe, and sustainable water for all.
