How do we utilize the funds we are given as beneficiaries of social cash transfer?
Well let us meet Ms. Emily Tembo who started her charcoal and onion business out of the Social Cash transfer Funds.
Ms. Tembo featured on our radio program which comes to you every Friday on Chongwe radio 104.5 at 16:30 hours. She explained how social cash transfer has given her an opportunity to financially sustain herself and her family.
Physical disability does limit how someone can navigate around certain things but it does not limit how someone can navigate around the limitations it brings. Ms. Tembo started her business with her first payment of social cash transfer where she ordered some charcoal and onions to resale. Her second payment helped to boost her business. Ever since, business has grown as she now has ducks, village chickens, different vegetables which grow in her garden. Through her profits she has stated building her shop which is yet to be complete. Her siblings help her with different type of work team work gives better results.
As social cash transfer beneficiaries, let us utilize the funds we have in a positive way because we can have more financial independence out of it when it is used the right way. Ms. Tembo has shown us that starting a business does not need huge amounts of money but it necessarily needs a creative mind to multiply what we have and take advantage of the help we are given by the government.
