Previously, we discussed the challenges of teenage pregnancy and early marriages in Eastern Province. Nzoli Charity Foundation, we're tackling these issues head-on by providing vocational skills training for young girls.
Poverty is a major driver of early marriages and teen pregnancies, so we've launched the Girl Guide/Skills Club to equip girls in school with vocational and life skills. Our goal is to keep them busy, empower them with financial independence and job readiness, so they don't have to rely on boys.
We're not just focusing on the girls, we're also working with parents, who often encourage early marriage for financial gain. By teaching them alternative skills and income-generating opportunities, we can break the cycle of poverty and promote a brighter future for our girls.
Through this initiative, we're building a community of empowered women who can thrive and make informed choices about their lives, and to our girls they're gaining the tools to support themselves, their families, and their communities.
