Highlights from today's NWZC Presidential engagement with leaders of Chingola Central Mission District at Riverside SDA Church.
The NorthWestern Zambia Conference President, Pastor Kenneth met leaders of Chingola Central Mission District based churches for an engagement meeting at which he encouraged the leaders present to take a genuine interest in the spiritual well-being of their local churches by ensuring that members are growing spiritually and not merely attending church services.
The meeting highlighted the need for the church to have true worshippers rather than merely people who gather. True worship requires intentional preparation and participation. Worshippers should not come to church unexpectedly or without preparation; rather, they should prepare themselves spiritually before coming into God's presence. It was further emphasized that offering is an important act of worship. Worship should involve giving of oneself and one's resources to God.
Pastor Kakenge highlighted three important things that leaders should strive to accomplish:
1. Make things move.
2. Make things happen.
3. Ensure that things change.
Leadership should therefore not be passive. Leaders are expected to provide direction, initiate action, and facilitate meaningful progress within the church for “Nothing grows without changing.”
