[LONG ARM OF THE LAW CATCHES UP WITH SUSPECT WANTED FOR HOUSE ROBBERY ON BUS TO GAUTENG]
A coordinated operation between members of the Provincial Flying Squad and Bandelierkop SAPS led to the successful arrest of a 27-year-old suspect linked to cases of house robbery, assault with intent to cause grievous bodily harm (GBH), and possession of suspected stolen property.
Members attached to the Provincial Flying Squad were performing routine operational duties on Monday, 25 May 2026, when they received information from Bandelierkop SAPS requesting assistance to intercept a bus travelling along the N1 South towards Gauteng.
The suspect, who was allegedly attempting to flee the province, was positively identified after police strategically tracked and intercepted the bus. Upon searching the suspect, police recovered suspected stolen property (copper). The 27-year-old suspect was immediately arrested.
The Provincial Commissioner of Police in Limpopo, Lieutenant General Thembi Hadebe, praised the swift coordination and rapid response displayed by the members. βThis arrest demonstrates the commitment of our police officers as they ensure that criminals have no place to hide,β said Lieutenant General Hadebe.
The suspect is expected to appear before the local Magistrateβs Court soon.
Police investigations are continuing.
