Lots of enthusiastic singing brightened up everyone's day at Kings Cross home today.

An orange cat in the rafters brought a sudden halt to singing before it proceeded again for a Merry Christmas 🎅 🎄

Today, the BFF team visited local Kings Cross home to hand out their potplant gifts that they made last week, together with a few cupcakes and a lot of love and laughter.

Having a group of youngsters together like this can be a little chaotic, but the elderly residents loved being entertained by the kids and reminisced about their past interactions with children.

Many of the residents at Kings Cross do not have any family of their own left and getting a little something with their name on it made specially for them by one of the children is a way for the BFF kids to not only do something fun and educational for themselves, but also share that love with those who don't recieve a lot of personal love frequently, getting to experience the beauty of giving.

They were impressed to learn that the children not only painted the pots themselves, but also planted the cuttings knowing that they would be handing out their creations as gifts.

Before the gifts were handed out, the home was first treated to a few songs which the children had to practice at home in preparation for today's activities.

Afterwards, we visited a local beach to wet our feet before each child recieved their own gift bag for Christmas.

What a fun morning!

The BFF team had an absolute blast out in Laaiplek this morning where we picked up 31 bags full of litter before heading off to meet Santa Claus for some gifts and treats.

We are so proud of these kids for contributing to making our community better!

Thanks to Bergrivier Municipality for collecting our bags on short notice.

See you all again next week for another bout of endless laughter and fun!

We are so proud of Harcourts West Coast - Laaiplek and Kim Pistor Attorneys and Conveyancers for this wonderful initiative!

The BFF team will join in the fun straight after our litter clean-up event on Saturday morning.

Santa's route for Saturday will start at the Carinus Bridge, where he will turn left into Voortrekker Street, drive towards the Harcourts Laaiplek Offices, turn right into Jameson Street, and at the 4-way stop, turn right into Lofdal Street towards the Eric Goldsmith Sports Ground.

Join the BFF team for our litter clean-up event this Saturday, 14 December 2024, at 09:00am.

Don't worry about being late - we will be busy until about 11:30am and you are welcome to join at any time!

We will meet across the road from Doepies take-away eatery in Laaiplek, Velddrif and proceed to clean along the sidewalk and open field area.

Rubbish bags will be provided.

Please bring along a pair of gloves as we may not have enough to share. We will have some drinks available, but it is always good to bring your own reusable water-bottle filled with your favourite beverage to keep hydrated.

The BFF team kicked off our first activities this week with an epic holiday gift-making session!
A few children from the local community came out to learn about plants and pots and paint and made their own brand new little colourful pot plants from cuttings taken from the surrounding environment.

A whole lot of fun was had!
