Cape of Good Hope SPCA
We just want to say a massive thank you to SPCA that stepped in very quickly with this case and helped us in a tremendous way. Without their assistance Roxy would have suffered for a very long time. Her owners were REFUSING her medical care (they did not want to pay, even though we said they didnt have to) and also refused to surrender her. SPCA stepped in and had her owners to surrender. Despite all our efforts she sadly to be put out of her misery but she left in a dignified and loved way.

Sometimes, despite everything we do, love cannot change the outcome.
Roxy fought bravely, and our team fought alongside her. Sadly, despite our hard work and every effort to stabilise her, we reached the heartbreaking decision that euthanasia was the kindest choice.
But your donations mattered. More than you may realise.
Because of your generosity, Roxy was able to receive the veterinary care she desperately needed. Your donations helped keep her stable, comfortable and pain-free while we fought for her. And when the time came to say goodbye, she was surrounded by care and compassion rather than suffering.
You may have donated hoping to save her life—and we are so sorry that we could not give you that outcome.
But you did save her from suffering.
You gave Roxy time.
You gave her comfort.
You gave her dignity.
And, most importantly, you made sure she did not face her final moments in pain.
For an animal who had already endured so much, that is an enormous gift. ❤️
