Peke Haven is a non-profit Company and relies on fundraising and donations to save and re-home Pekingese dogs in need .

Pekingese Haven NPC
A registered non-profit organisation dedicated to the rescue, rehabilitation, and rehoming of unwanted, abandoned, neglected, and surrendered Pekingese dogs in and around Brentwood Park, Kempton Park, South Africa. Unfortunately we receive extremely neglected, abused and traumatised Pekingese to the well-kept and much-loved family member. All our Pekingese go for a full medical evaluation and undergo any necessary treatment before being moved to our Haven Sanctuary and from there we endeavor to find them an approved, safe and loving responsible home. All Pekingese are sterilized, vaccinated, vet checked & micro-chipped before placement for adoption. We have a strict adoption process to ensure that our rescued Pekingese go to the right home. Mission
The Purpose of Peke Haven is to rescue, rehabilitate and re-home unwanted, abandoned, neglected and surrendered Pekingese dogs in South Africa, irrespective of age, health, breed standard or geography. We aim to give all rescue Pekingese a second chance to find a happy, loving home for his/her lifetime. We practice a right to a quality of life policy and will only re-home healthy and sterilized Pekingese.

Meet Lilly, 3 years old, and Billy, 2 years old — a young pair who have sadly been surrendered to Pekingese Haven Rescue Sanctuary.

Look at our brave little boy go! 🥹🐶

Every day, Trevor is getting a little stronger, and watching him enjoy his afternoon walks in the Peke Haven Park fills our hearts with so much hope. 🌳🐾

After everything this precious boy has been through, seeing him walking, eating well and slowly finding his strength again is the kind of progress that makes every worry worthwhile. ❤️

Pekingese lovers, we know how much you adore the breed, but sometimes worry about the health challenges that can come with it. ❤️

Well, we have some wonderful news! Meet Wesley and Blake, two gorgeous Peke-Yorkie crosses who are ready to steal your heart! 🐶💕

👑 Meet Wesley — a handsome 7-year-old boy.

💕 Meet Blake — a beautiful 6-year-old girl.

These two are absolute sweethearts! They are easygoing, loving, good with people, love children, and walk beautifully on a leash. Just lovely dogs looking for someone to love them for the rest of their lives. 🥰🐾

They have so much love left to give. All they need now is a family who will open their hearts and homes to them.

Princess Peaches had a BATH today! 😱😂

And let me tell you… Her Royal Highness was NOT impressed! 🤣👑

Lungile and I were on bath duty, and Princess gave us THE ONE-EYE LOOK OF ROYAL DISAPPOINTMENT! 👁️😂

You know that look… the one that says, “HOW DARE YOU? Do you have ANY idea who I am?” 🤣🤣

I still have work to do, but Princess has a reputation to maintain! She simply LOVES looking pretty and being magazine-ready. 📸✨

A bath might be necessary, but being subjected to one? Absolutely unacceptable when you’re royalty! 😂💅

❤️🐾 EVERY DOG HAS A STORY. NONE OF THEM DESERVED WHAT HAPPENED TO THEM. 🐾❤️

Every dog at Pekingese Haven Rescue Sanctuary has a story, but not one of them is here because of a fault of their own. They are wonderful, gentle souls who were simply dealt a difficult hand in life. 💔

Some were left behind when their families chose to emigrate without them. Others endured the frightening reality of surviving as strays on the streets. Some were surrendered because their families didn’t understand the breed they were bringing home.

And sadly, some were chosen as cute, little gremlin-looking puppies because the children wanted them, only to be discarded when they grew older and were no longer the tiny, fluffy novelty they once were. 💔🐶

A dog is not a toy. A puppy is not a passing phase. A commitment should last a lifetime.

❤️ BUT HERE AT PEKINGESE HAVEN, THEIR STORIES ARE BEING REWRITTEN.

Since arriving in our care, these precious souls have become cherished members of our Haven family.

Our dedicated team has poured endless hours of care, patience and love into their rehabilitation, helping them overcome past traumas and rediscover trust.

Today, beneath those beautiful faces and sometimes quirky little personalities, are loving, playful, affectionate companions who deserve nothing less than a family of their own. 🏡🐾
