With curiosity.
With questions.
With a desire to make a difference.

What they leave with is so much more.

Confidence.
Purpose.
Real-world experience.
Lifelong skills.
A community that has their back.

Thanks to the incredible generosity of our community, we exceeded our R9 million goal!

This year's campaign, "Where CSO Saved Me," was about more than fundraising. It was about sharing real stories, real experiences, and the very real impact that CSO has on the lives of people in our community every day.

A special thank you to Ilana Shone, Nik Rabinowitz, Rebecca Surovsky Bryer and Steven Russak, who courageously shared their personal "Where CSO Saved Me" stories. Your honesty, vulnerability, and willingness to speak about your experiences helped bring our mission to life and reminded us all why this work matters.

This achievement would not have been possible without the many amazing people and organisations working tirelessly behind the scenes.

We're so grateful to:
📍 Gardens Shul for generously allowing us to use their fantastic hall as our venue.
☎️ The Left Click Network Solutions team for setting up our remote call centre and ensuring everything ran seamlessly.
💻 GO RENTALS for lending us laptops, helping our team work more efficiently throughout the campaign.
🎤 SOUND 360 for providing sound equipment and invaluable support.
🤝 Milan Levy and Megan from Zetigon/Fundnation – your partnership and support are truly appreciated.
✨ Kayli Vee Levitan and her team and Josh Hayman for their creativity, dedication, and endless patience in bringing this campaign to life.
🍰Norrie Caterers & Cafe Riteve for keeping everyone energised with delicious refreshments and snacks throughout the day.
☕ Coffeeright Cape Town, Ilana, and Colin for the endless supply of coffee, always served with a smile, helping keep us fuelled from start to finish.

A massive THANK YOU to every volunteer who gave their time to make calls, connect with donors, assist with administration, and support the campaign in countless ways. You were extraordinary, and we simply could not have done it without you.

And to our incredible donors: thank you for believing in our mission and investing in the safety and future of our community.

Together, we've done more than reach a fundraising target. We've shown what is possible when a community comes together, shares its stories, and stands united behind a common purpose.

Because behind every donation, every volunteer, and every supporter is a reminder that CSO is there when it matters most.

💙 Thank you for helping us ensure that more people can say, "CSO Saved Me." 💙

So, from every person at CSO Cape Town, and on behalf of every life you have helped protect and save: Thank you And Shabbat Shalom 🫶🏻

KEEP THOSE DONATIONS COMING IN!

REBECCA’S STORY

It was second day Rosh Hashana and after going to Shul, something didn’t feel right. It was an unusual, overwhelming exhaustion I couldn’t explain. I assumed I was coming down with the flu, so I went home to rest and went to bed early that night.

A few hours later, I woke up with severe chest pain. Realising that something was seriously wrong, I woke my husband and said one thing: “Call CSO.”

All of a sudden, everything escalated. My condition deteriorated rapidly, and I collapsed. As I fell to the ground, in walked CSO’s medics who took control, delivering life-saving care and guiding me through the most critical minutes before rushing me into the ambulance.

I recognised my medic’s surname and realised he had just lost his mom, who was close in age to me. And here he was, sitting beside me, taking care of me. I said to him, “You should be taking care of yourself.” But he took my arm and said, “I will get you through this. I’m not leaving you.”

And he didn’t. He stayed with me at the hospital, right up until they took me in for my procedure. At the hospital, the reality was clear - a “widow-maker” heart attack. A complete blockage. A condition few survive without immediate intervention. I only survived because I got to the right place, fast.

And then, the next day as I lay in my hospital bed all tied up to machines, he came back to visit me.

What stayed with me wasn’t just the medical response, it was the care. The follow-up. The feeling that I was never alone, even after the emergency had passed.

CSO Cape Town’s number should be in your phone, on your fridge, and in your memory. Because when everything is on the line, knowing who will show up changes everything.

For 12 more hours, all donations are doubled – please support today – www.fundnation.org/csocape - let’s keep saving lives together!
