Last week we had the privilege of visiting Vezokuhle Crèche in Mtwalume and seeing firsthand the incredible progress that has been made. From using a family hut last year to creating a beautiful place where young children can learn, play, grow, and dream.

Every child deserves a safe, nurturing environment in which to begin their educational journey, and Vezokuhle is creating exactly that for the children of the community.

While much has been achieved, there is still work to be done. We would love to complete the exterior of the crèche and build a small kitchen where nutritious meals can be prepared for the children each day.

A warm, welcoming learning space and a functional kitchen may seem like simple things, but they make a world of difference in the lives of young children.

We are very proud of one of the ECD practitioners in our network and the journey she has traveled. Sibongile is in Mtwalume and runs Vezokuhle Creche. We visited her and were touched by the the set up- happy excited, clever children who had no toilet. We started with a couple of food packs, some funds for her toilet and building structure and then she was part of our Nutrition Diversity Programme. Wow, has this all grown into something inspiring! She now has a new classroom, toilet, large garden and is growing. We are trying to get her a new kitchen and funds to plaster and paint her building! If you are able to assist.
