YARONA COMMUNITY FOUNDATION NPC would like to sincerely thank every individual, organisation, stakeholder, volunteer, donor, and community member who contributed toward the success of our recent Winter Relief Initiative and Soup Kitchen Program held within Dalimpofu Informal Settlement, Tembisa.
Our hearts were truly touched by the overwhelming support, unity, love, and positive response from the community. Seeing smiles, warmth, appreciation, and hope amongst our people reminded us why community work is so important.
As a young organisation hosting one of our first public initiatives within our own community, we were deeply honoured and encouraged by the surprise presence and support from respected leaders and guests, including the former Councillor of Ward 9, representatives from organisations operating at national level, community stakeholders, and various supporters who took time to stand with us and encourage the work being done.
Through this initiative, we managed to cater for more than 100 community members by providing warm soup and bread, while also distributing jackets and jerseys to help bring warmth and dignity to members of the community during this winter season.
We would also like to extend our sincere gratitude to:
- Secretary from Swazz-Inn Market and their patrons for donating vegetables and supporting the soup kitchen initiative;
- Black Centenary Diamond NPC (BCD) and Kganya Lesedi Foundation for their collaboration, contributions, and for helping bring warmth and dignity to the Dalimpofu community through jackets and jerseys;
- The ladies who dedicated their time and efforts toward preparing and cooking the soup for the community;
- Pastor Mamba from within Dalimpofu community who generously assisted us with chairs and support for the event;
- All leaders, guests, volunteers, and community members who stood with us.
- Thembisa Online for covering and supporting the event through media and community visibility;
- Mr Ndalamo's wisdom.
