Soweto Independent Living Centre Non-Profit organisation that provides services that ensure independent living of persons with disabilities in the community.

We offer people with disabilities personal assistance who take care of them and their needs daily. Soweto independent living has an impact on the promotion of equity and mainstreaming of disability in every aspect of society, strengthening the voices of persons with disabilities through empowerment and meeting different needs of persons with disabilities especially those with severe disabilities.

We have 30 personal assistance taking care of 45 beneficiaries with their daily needs. We also have 2 Peer counselors who give support groups and counseling to new and old persons with disabilities in the community.

22 year old Mfanafuthi Nxumalo went through aftercare support programme at Gauteng Department of Social Development Mary Moodley Child and Youth Care Centre and now employed as a Food Aider within the centre.
