Dear friends, family, and supporters,
We are incredibly proud to share that Evan has been officially selected by Chess South Africa to represent our country in the Under-8 Open section at the prestigious FIDE World Cadets Cup 2026 in Batumi, Georgia, Europe.
This remarkable achievement comes after outstanding performances at national level and reflects his dedication, discipline, and exceptional talent at such a young age.
This is a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity—but participation is entirely self-funded.
Financial Breakdown
The estimated total cost for the tour is approximately R105,000 for two people, which includes:
International flights
Accommodation (13 nights)
Tournament entry and FIDE fees
Chess South Africa administration fees
Travel insurance and visa-related costs
Meals and local transport
The initial invoice for accommodation and fees amounts to R64,560, with a deposit of R5,000 required urgently by 22 April 2026 to secure his place.
Due to his age, a parent is required to accompany him, which increases the overall cost.
