Kidney Cancer Awareness Month π
March is Kidney Cancer Awareness Month, a time dedicated to raising awareness about kidney cancer, encouraging early detection, supporting patients, and honoring those who have battled this disease.
Kidney cancer often develops silently, with very few symptoms in its early stages. Because of this, many people are only diagnosed once the disease has already progressed. Awareness plays a powerful role in helping people recognize the signs early and seek medical attention when something doesnβt feel right.
Some symptoms that should never be ignored include:
Blood in the urine
Persistent pain in the lower back or side
Unexplained weight loss
Constant fatigue
A lump or swelling in the abdominal area
Early detection can make a life-saving difference.
Kidney Cancer Awareness Month is also about standing in solidarity with patients, survivors, and families who are facing this difficult journey. It reminds us of the importance of access to diagnostic testing, screenings, treatment, and emotional support.
For organizations like the Care for Cancer Foundation, this month is an opportunity to continue supporting patients who cannot afford essential diagnostic tests and scans. Every contribution helps bring hope, dignity, and care to someone fighting cancer.
Let us use this month to: π Educate ourselves and others
π Encourage early screening and diagnosis
π Support cancer patients and their families
π Remember those we have lost and honor their legacy
Together, through awareness, compassion, and action, we can make a difference in the fight against kidney cancer.
