Dignity isn't negotiable, and education shouldn’t be interrupted. 📚✨

On this Menstrual Hygiene Day, SALSO is reaffirming our commitment to breaking the stigma and empowering learners. Period poverty and a lack of support force too many young girls to miss out on crucial school days, but together, we can change the narrative.

Our ongoing mission ensures dignity for all through:

Menstrual Health Education: Breaking the silence and dismantling the stigma.

Access to Sanitary Products: Making sure every learner has what they need to stay confident.

Reducing Absenteeism: Keeping our learners in the classroom where they belong.

Let’s build a world where periods are just a normal part of life, never a barrier to a bright future. ❤️

On the 5th of May, we joined the City of Johannesburg for an important session on waste management and service delivery in our communities. 🏙️

As part of our ongoing Breathe Better Together campaign, in collaboration with Seriti and the City of Johannesburg, we are learning more about the real challenges communities face—including illegal dumping and its impact on air pollution.

It was an educational and eye-opening experience, especially for our NYS participants. Thank you to everyone working to make our communities cleaner and healthier. 💨🌍

Today we are actively commemorating International Mother Earth Day at Thabo Secondary School as part of the Breathe Better Together project, implemented in partnership with Seriti Institute, City of Johannesburg, and Breathe Cities.
Through the school-based activation, learners were engaging in practical environmental activities that highlight the importance of clean air, responsible waste management, and sustainable living.
Today’s programme included air pollution awareness sessions, recycling demonstrations, and tree planting, creating opportunities for young people to take meaningful action for a healthier environment.
