Our purpose at Khulisa Abantwana is a simple one;

We provide the vital support lacking for disadvantaged children to give them the bright futures they too deserve.

Today we went to see where Alex and Thandi are staying - alone, as their mother abandoned them.

They have become the first children to officially join our ‘sponsor a child’ program.

The video speaks for itself - it is utterly devastating that these children are having to try and somehow survive.

They are going to need a community’s support to get through this. Thankfully they have a few people in their corner, but they are going to need more.

If you feel that you want to help in any way, please do get in touch. We need donations that will go directly to paying for food, toiletries, cleaning products etc.

It brings me such joy to see these kids engaged, having fun, and learning skills such as the importance of team work, treating each other with respect, as well being on time. The treat at the end of the session was most welcome as well!

This is what happens when a community comes together - our coaches are all volunteers, wants to give back to the kids. Many of them know first hand the importance of providing safe spaces to our youth and the difference it can make.

Even massively underfunded, this program is making all the difference!

Thank you Coli Bro!! You have given these children and their support team outside space! To play! To learn! To grow! And also just to sit and chill 🫶🏼🫶🏼🫶🏼

A BIG thank you to Malcolm and his team - I literally could not have done it without you!

What a perfect example of giving these children the basic right to play outside - something every child should have. And now these kids have it too 🌱

A little love, a little fun, and lots of smiles at Siyazama Educare 🧸✨ Spending Mandela Day making memories with these beautiful little ones. ❤️ A special thanks to Cheryl and her church in the UK, without their donations this wouldn’t have happened.

♟️ Their first-ever chess tournament! ♟️

We were incredibly proud to sponsor the first chess tournament for the children of Silverleaf Primary School in Dunoon.

At Khulisa Abantwana, we believe in supporting opportunities that help children grow, thrive and recognise their own potential. Chess is so much more than a game, it develops concentration, patience, confidence, problem-solving and critical thinking.

Every child deserves the chance to strengthen their mind, challenge themselves and step into the world feeling capable of competing on an equal playing field.

Sometimes, changing a child’s future starts with giving them the opportunity to make their very first move. 💛♟️

We are launching our new food planter project today! Many children need healthy food to grow big, think clearly, and thrive every day.
These planters will teach the kids in Dunoon how to grow their own fresh food and why healthy eating builds a strong mind.

Why This Project Matters

High need: Many of our children go without a sustainable meal per day.
Brain power: Good food helps our kids focus and learn.
Life skills: Our kids will learn how to plant, water, and grow crops.
Bright futures: Healthy bodies lead to healthy, active minds.
