As September and the Get into the Green Scene campaign comes to an end, we want to take a moment to say a heartfelt thank you to everyone who helped us spread awareness of Muscular Dystrophy.

To the members who joined in and shared their green scenes with us, thank you for helping us show that awareness can be fun, personal and creative.

A special thank you also goes to the doctors and healthcare professionals, schools, organisations, workplaces and community members who supported the campaign, shared our awareness materials and helped us reach people who may not otherwise have known about Muscular Dystrophy.

And to everyone who wore green, shared a post, displayed a poster, watched our awareness videos, joined a conversation or simply took a moment to learn more, thank you. Every small action helped us get the message a little further.

💚 Hope in Motion 2026 was an incredible day of community, connection and support for people living with muscular dystrophy.
Held on 19 September at Hoërskool Florida, the day brought together members, families, supporters, athletes, vendors, volunteers and the wider community.

From the Muscle Runners on the track to the Muscle Riders and Little Heroes of Hope on their bikes, the energy and spirit were inspiring! 🚶‍♀️🏃‍♂️🚴‍♀️

A huge thank you to everyone who participated, volunteered, donated, supported our athletes, ran stalls, helped behind the scenes or simply came along. We are so grateful for every person and organisation who helped make the day possible, including our valued event partners and supporters, such as Run Walk For Life.

Hope in Motion is about more than one event. It’s about raising awareness, building connections, celebrating our members and generating support for the ongoing work of the MDFSA Gauteng Branch.

Together, we truly kept hope in motion! 💚

We are incredibly grateful to the staff of the Chris Hani Baragwanath Academic Hospital Paediatric Neuro Department, joined by students from Wits University, for getting into the Green Scene this International Muscular Dystrophy Awareness Month!
