REPORT
A call was received by members of GGT2030 Special Project Unit from the OCC, reporting two individuals snatching phones in Turffontein, resulting in six phones stolen from different people.
Upon receiving the description of the suspects and their vehicle, members immediately alerted others to be on the lookout. Shortly thereafter, members spotted the suspect and made the arrest.
The stolen cellphones were recovered inside the vehicle.

The suspects where taken into custody by TRU, and a case of theft was opened at Booysens Police Station

Recovered:
6 x Cellphones.
1 x Vehicle

K9 UNIT APPREHENDS ROBBERY SUSPECTS IN HILLBROW

The Johannesburg Metropolitan Police Department (JMPD) confirms the arrest of a suspect in connection with a robbery and assault incident that occurred in Hillbrow.

On Tuesday, 29 July 2025, members of the JMPD K9 Unit, arrested the male suspect at his residence located at the corner of Gildreich and Catherine Streets in Hillbrow.

The suspect is alleged to have robbed a victim of R17,000 and severely assaulted them. The incident was reported as per the Hillbrow SAPS case.

The suspect is currently in police custody and is expected to appear in court soon to face charges of robbery and assault.

The JMPD remains committed to ensuring the safety and security of all Johannesburg residents. We commend the swift action of our K9 Unit in apprehending the suspect.
