Dog-friendly doesn’t mean off leash at James & Ethel Gray Park.

We love seeing dogs in the park. We really do. It’s part of what makes the space feel alive, friendly, and full of community.

But this is still a shared public park, and we need everyone to help keep it safe and comfortable.

Please keep your dog on a leash, pick up after them, give people space, respect other dogs, and help us protect the wildlife and keep the park clean.

Even the sweetest, best-trained dog can react unexpectedly. A runner comes past. Another dog gets too close. A child gets excited. Something startles them. It happens quickly.

So this isn’t about blaming dog owners. It’s about looking after everyone who uses James & Ethel Gray Park.

Lead on. P**p picked up. Space respected. Park protected.

Hi all, with the coming up this weekend at James and Ethel Gray Park, here are a few important details for community members who will be attending:

🎟️ Please make sure your tickets/booking details are ready before arrival.
🚗 Arrive early where possible to allow time for parking and entry.
👨‍👩‍👧‍👦 This is a family-friendly event, so bring the kids, enjoy the park, and support a wonderful community gathering.
🌳 Please help us keep James and Ethel Gray Park clean by using the bins provided and respecting the natural environment.

SA’s ultimate travelling inflatable obstacle course is HERE - 2,100m² of pure adrenaline, towering 6 metres tall with 36 challenges across 270 metres. From Balls of Doom to The Climb of Shame, this is fun and fitness like you’ve never experienced it 🔥

A contrast of two moods in Johannesburg….

The quaint and idyllic scenery at the James and Ethel Park in Melrose is shining bright against gloomy clouds gathering high above.

The 36-hectare space is great for picnics, dog walking, jogging, cycling, or just chilling. On the odd occasion, you might spot a group of yogis doing sessions on the grass.
