What a fantastic morning at our Black Wattle Hack! πŸ’ͺ🌳

Our community came together again to tackle the invasive Black Wattle at Klapperkop Nature Reserve. We managed to clear a significant area, and it was all thanks to the amazing people who came out to help. πŸŒ±πŸ‘

A huge thank you to everyone who contributed towards the herbicide and chainsaw teams. Your support makes this work possible. πŸ™

A special thank you to ASEZ WAO for bringing so many enthusiastic young volunteers. They worked incredibly hard behind the chainsaw teams. They treated every stump with Kaput and stacked the felled trees to help prevent soil erosion. πŸ’ͺ🌿

We are also so grateful to Monument Park SuperSpar for donating pizza and water for our volunteers. πŸ•πŸ’§ Thank you for supporting our conservation work and giving back to the community! ❀️

Thank you to Mr Cedric Thenga from Nature Conservation and our Ward Councillor, Shaun Wilkinson Shaun Wilkinson Ward 59 Tshwane for joining us and showing their support. πŸ‘

And finally, thank you to every volunteer who gave up their time and got stuck in. Your hard work really does make a difference.

Together, we are protecting and restoring our beautiful nature reserves. One hack at a time. πŸŒ³πŸ’š

What an incredible start to our Black Wattle Hack at Klapperkop Nature Reserve! 🌳πŸ’ͺ🏻

Our mission is to tackle the invasive black wattle spreading through our reserves, choking out indigenous vegetation and threatening our beautiful natural habitat. 🌱πŸͺ“

Today, we were incredibly fortunate to have AfriForum come alongside us with five teams to help us get a head start. πŸ™ŒπŸ»

A HUGE thank you to every person who gave their time, energy and enthusiasm to the cause. Your generosity, commitment and willingness to get stuck in were truly phenomenal! πŸ‘πŸ»πŸ’š
