Disability Breeds Ability๐๐
Our Transformation Seminar, โDisability Breeds Ability,โ provided an opportunity to challenge perceptions surrounding disability and celebrate the abilities that often emerge from experiences of difference. In collaboration with VITA, we were honoured to engage with EC members from VITA, the Subcommittee and also students living with disability , who shared personal insights into their day to day experiences. Through their stories, they spoke about living with disabilities and the ways in which they have adapted, navigated challenges and continued to thrive.
The seminar reminded us that disability does not mean inability. Rather, different circumstances can reveal and strengthen abilities in ways we may not always recognise. The speakers highlighted that they are not different from anyone else. They experience the same emotions, aspirations and ambitions, while also embracing what makes each of them unique.
We extend our sincere appreciation to VITA, for creating space for meaningful conversations, sharing their experiences and helping us foster a more inclusive understanding of disability.
Through conversations like these, we continue to learn, challenge perceptions and recognise that being different does not make one less capable; it makes each individual unique.
