Mandela Day reminds us that every act of kindness, no matter how small, has the power to change lives. By giving just 67 minutes of our time, we honour the 67 years that Nelson Mandela dedicated to fighting for justice, equality, and a better future for all.

This year, we had the privilege of celebrating Mandela Day with Lungisa Security and Cup Final, who chose to spend the day giving back to our centre and the community we serve.

Lungisa Security generously donated paint, shared a delicious meal with everyone, and rolled up their sleeves to help paint our classrooms, creating a brighter and more welcoming learning environment for our children.

Cup Final blessed our centre with a generous donation of grocery items for our beneficiaries and spent the entire day with us, sharing their time, compassion, and commitment to making a positive difference in our community.

The day was filled with teamwork, laughter, meaningful conversations, serving others, and creating lasting memories. It was a beautiful reminder that when people come together with a shared purpose, they can make a real and lasting impact.

To Lungisa Security, Cup Final, our staff, volunteers, and everyone who contributed in any way—thank you. Your generosity, kindness, and willingness to serve have touched many lives. We are truly grateful for your support and for helping us continue our mission of caring for and empowering the children and families in our community.

Together, we are building hope, one act of kindness at a time.

Happy Mandela Day ❤️

In commemoration of World Youth Skills Day, Nosa Early Learning Orphans and Vulnerable Children Centre hosted a meaningful engagement session with our youth and staff. To honour the legacy of the June 16 Soweto Uprising, participants wore school uniforms as a symbol of remembrance and to reflect on the ongoing importance of youth empowerment through education.

The purpose of the event was to create a safe and inclusive space where young people could openly discuss the challenges they face in their daily lives. Through facilitated conversations, participants shared their experiences and identified key issues affecting their wellbeing and future opportunities, including unemployment, limited access to skills development, mental health concerns, peer pressure, substance abuse, gender-based violence, poverty, and barriers to further education.

The discussions also focused on practical solutions. Together, the youth explored ways to strengthen resilience, improve access to information, build employability skills, and connect with available community resources and support services. Staff members listened carefully to the voices of the young people, reinforcing our commitment to ensuring that their concerns are heard and addressed through future programmes.

This event reminded us that empowering young people begins by listening to them. By providing opportunities for meaningful participation, we are helping to develop confident, informed, and resilient young leaders who can contribute positively to their communities.

“The youth of today are the leaders of tomorrow.” – Nelson Mandela

Happy Mother’s Day to all Our Mothers❤️

Today we’re celebrating YOU - the mothers who wake up early, pack lunches, kiss scraped knees, and still show up with love that never runs out.

To the moms who trust us with their most precious gifts each day: thank you. Your trust is something we don’t take lightly. Every child in our care carries a piece of you, and we see the love, the hope, and the dreams you’ve poured into them. It’s an honor to walk alongside you in raising the next generation.

And to every mother out there - whether you’re raising one child or ten, whether you’re near or far, whether this day feels joyful or heavy - we see you. The quiet sacrifices, the sleepless nights, the fierce love you give without keeping score. The world is softer, stronger, and brighter because of you.

May today bring you moments of rest, gratitude, and the reminder that you are appreciated more than words can say.

From all of us at Nosa Early Learning Orphans and Vulnerable Children's Centre, Happy Mother’s Day. Thank you for letting us be part of your children’s journey. 💛
