“Lord, stamp eternity on my eyeballs”
Dit is die woorde waarmee die bekende herlewingsprediker Jonathan Edwards gebid het. Gloria Furman sê dit is ’n gesindheid wat ons almal moet aanneem.

“As ek dinge nie vanuit ’n ewige perspektief sien nie, sien ek net die gemors. Ek sien net die las. Ek sien net die rekmerke. Ek sien net die angs van al hierdie dinge, in plaas daarvan om dit te sien in die lig van die feit dat: “Die geskiedenis is op pad êrens heen, en ons kry die voorreg om deel daarvan te wees!”

Gloria Furman het haar hande vol as ’n leraar se vrou in Dubai, in die Verenigde Arabiese Emirate. (Oor net ’n oomblik gaan ons hoor hoe hierdie geleentheid vir bediening ontstaan het.)

Gloria se belangrikste bediening in hierdie seisoen is om ’n vrou vir haar man, Dave, te wees en ’n mamma vir hulle vier jonger kinders.

Julle gaan nou hoor hoe hulle missie dieselfde is: om elke dag aan die voete van Jesus te sit, en dan in hulle eie gesinne – hulle mans en kinders – te belê, en om God se koninkryk in hulle gemeenskappe te dien terwyl hulle die alledaagse lewe uitleef… en dan dit wat hulle leer, aan ander vroue oor te dra.

Maak nie saak waar jy is of in watter lewensfase jy jou tans bevind nie, ek d**k hierdie gesprek gaan jou bemoedig. Dit sal jou help om jou fokus te behou op dit wat werklik saak maak te midde van die besige lewe, en om seker te maak dat jou verhouding met Christus altyd jou nommer een prioriteit is.

Liewe mamma, is jy ooit in die versoeking om saam met jou tiener op sy of haar emosionele rollercoaster te ry? Melissa Kruger verstaan dit, en sy wil jou hierin bemoedig.

Dit is eintlik ’n geweldige las wanneer iemand voel dat jou geluk van hulle afhanklik is. Moenie jou hoop op jou kind en op hoe dit met hom of haar gaan, plaas nie. Plaas jou hoop op ’n vaste fondament wat dit werklik kan dra.

Om tieners groot te maak, kom met uitdagings, maar geen uitdaging is vir die Here te groot nie. Dit is wat Melissa Kruger ons aanmoedig om te glo. Gister het sy vir ons drie beginsels gegee vir hoe om tieners met hoop groot te maak, en nou gaan ons nog vier hoor.

“Perhaps our trust in the Potter is most visible in what we pass on. The generation coming behind us is learning what it means to be women not just from what we teach them but from the way we inhabit our own womanhood. If they learned who has the right to define a woman simply by watching us—by observing our words and attitudes—whose authority would they believe we trust?

Maybe they would hear us say that God made them female but learn from our example that they still get to decide what that means.

Maybe they would hear that their bodies are beautifully designed while watching us speak about our own body as a problem to shrink, hide, or resent.

Maybe they would learn that God’s authority is something we affirm but not necessarily something we delight in.

More is at stake than we realize. We’re not only teaching the next generation what a woman is; we are showing them what it looks like to receive—or resist—the One who defines them.”

Ladies, womanhood isn’t ours to invent or revise but something we receive from the One who made us. May we be women who show the next generation the beauty and goodness of God’s design by the way we joyfully live it out.
