MEET THE COUNCIL: The Man in side the Machine!
Next up in our Meet the Council series, we are introducing the guy who is learning to keeps us all in line, on time, and properly documented, our Secretary, JD Bigge!
We threw our 3 burning questions at him. Here is what JD had to say:
1. The Fellowship Fuel
The Question: What is your ultimate, go-to "fellowship fuel" after a long project or during a Table raid?
JD's Answer: Honestly from deep down nothing beats eating a simple Boerewors roll next to a fire and an ice-cold coke zero for me after a long project or Table raid to other Tables. I love the good food, i'm crazy about the great fellowship among al the tablers, and making memories together, that’s the real fuel that keeps me coming back every time
2. The R10,000 Wild Card
The Question: If you had a R10,000 budget for a Table project that HAD to be spent on something wildly fun or unconventional, what are we doing?
JD's Answer: I’d organise something crazy...
Like a Random Acts of Kindness day where we as Table of Pe West 142 go out together, probably in silly outfits but definitely with our Table shirt to show people who we are, just spreading good vibes around town, paying for someone’s groceries at any Store, surprising petrol attendants with some generous tips, dropping off food packs to families in need, and making people smile for no reason because everyone deserves to smile. For me as John David Bigge... Table is all about fellowship and making an impact changing our community, and there’s nothing better than laughing together while genuinely making someone’s day so much brighter.
3. The Unforgettable Moment
The Question: What is the single funniest or most unforgettable moment you’ve experienced since joining the Table?
JD's Answer: It’s honestly hard to pick just one moment because Table has already given me so many great memories, but the Algoa 108 Jam Jar Rally 2025 at Kirkwood Golf Club stands out. Fellow Tabler started casually stuffing knives, forks, and even a tomato sauce bottle into his jacket while saying, “It’s for the children!”, a legendary throwback to ARTSA Mossel Bay 2024. The best part was when he stood up and everything came crashing down and the whole table bursting into laughter, it was one of those perfectly unplanned moments that sums up Table for me, brotherhood, humour, and memories you’ll laugh about for years.
Behind every great Secretary is a mountain of paperwork, JD is new to this role and with the assistance of our Chairman, he will be embracing the task.
