Women Of Worth Movement Society We are a female-led organization aiming at empowering, supporting, and bringing healing and wellness to women and society at large

Women Of Worth Movement Society was founded on the basis of self-love by two young women named Nomfundo Msomi and Nompumelelo Khathi. Their journey began in 2015 after shocking statistics related to the high rate of s*x workers, unemployment, teenage pregnancy, and substance abuse in the city. They discovered that these issues go way deeper than what is seen on the surface. They then took up a cha

llenge to restore the image of young women, inspire change, revive their self-esteem, and inspire the culture of self-help. The two founder ladies wanted to build a platform for healing, encouragement, and unpopular conversations in order to afford women the opportunity to share their life experiences, find healing and discover themselves. Both Nomfundo and Nompumelelo believed in the philosophy of self-love, and that by knowing your worth, you can build healthier boundaries, grow your confidence and live a happier life.

THROWBACK THURSDAY | KZN YOUTH CONSULTATION ON TAX JUSTICE, A JUST TRANSITION & THE GREEN ECONOMY 🌱♻️

On 14 August 2026, we brought young people from our community, as part of our Recycling for Profit Initiative, to the KwaZulu-Natal Youth Consultation on Tax Justice, a Just Transition, and the Green Economy, hosted by Greenpeace Africa.

The consultation brought together young people, civil society, community activists, and government representatives in eThekwini to engage on issues of youth unemployment, environmental justice, tax justice, and what a fair green transition should look like for communities.

Through participatory discussions, participants explored power, accountability, and policy gaps, while strengthening ideas on how youth-led advocacy can better influence decision-makers and drive meaningful change.

For us, creating spaces for young people to understand the links between environmental sustainability, economic opportunities, and social justice is an important part of building communities where young people can actively shape the future they want to see.💚

HAPPENED TODAY | SAAYC Social Entrepreneurship Training

Women Of Worth Movement Society is honoured to be among the select organisations participating in the 3-day 2026 Social Entrepreneurship Training hosted by the Southern African Association of Youth Clubs (SAAYC), taking place from 19–21 August 2026.

The training brings together young leaders to explore how community challenges can be transformed into viable opportunities for enterprise development, employment, and lasting social impact.

For WOW, this is a valuable space to refine our sustainability strategy and strengthen our business model as an organisation transitioning towards a self-sufficient social enterprise. It is also an opportunity to network, learn from other participants, and exchange ideas with young leaders working to create change in their communities.

We’re looking forward to learning, sharing our experiences of working in communities, and exploring how we can continue turning the challenges we see into opportunities for sustainable solutions.

Three days. New learning. New connections. New possibilities. 💖

We honour the women of 1956 by continuing to advocate for the economic emancipation of women, especially those navigating the structural barriers that continue to shape access to opportunities, markets and resources.

Women Of Worth Movement Society (WOW) continues to use its voice, resources and collective action to help create pathways to economic opportunity for women whose voices have been suppressed, overlooked or excluded.

Networking is an essential part of building a sustainable organisation❗️

On the 31st of July 2026, our Executive Director was honoured to attend the Pietermaritzburg & Midlands Chamber of Business "Women in Business" Luncheon, a celebration of leadership, resilience, and connection, featuring inspiring keynote speakers Captain Londy Ngcobo and Sarah Ferguson, whose stories challenged us to dream bigger, persevere, and break barriers.

The luncheon also created valuable opportunities to connect with inspiring women entrepreneurs and potential partners and we look forward to nurturing these relationships through our Women in Entrepreneurship Programme and creating opportunities that empower more women to thrive.

A heartfelt thank you to our Integrated Partner, Abelusi Global, especially John Allen, for sponsoring this valuable networking opportunity and making it possible for us to be part of such an inspiring event. 💖

This , on 17 July 2026, our Director, together with her friend and colleague, Thabiso Khoza, proudly joined 160 fellow Maritzburgers for the KPCA GROUP - Keep PMB Clean Action Group Paint-a-thon, dedicating 67 minutes to painting the railings of Roberts Road Bridge.

For our Director, this initiative was especially meaningful as a Play Your Part Ambassador, an Official Brand South Africa programme that celebrates active citizens committed to making South Africa a better place. Mandela Day reminds us that lasting change begins with ordinary people choosing to make an extraordinary difference in their communities.

We also echo the call made by KPCA Campaign Manager, Lara Edmonds, encouraging Pietermaritzburg businesses and residents to play their part in helping to clean, green, and beautify our city. At Women Of Worth Movement Society, these are values we proudly uphold. We remain committed to contributing to cleaner, safer, and more beautiful communities where everyone can thrive.

R**e culture is a term used to describe the ways in which s*xual violence is normalized and perpetuated. There are so many things that contribute to our r**e culture. How can we chip away at it?

It’s important to note: individual survivors are not responsible for fighting r**e culture and we should not expect that of them. At the same time, we need survivor voices centered. The key is giving survivors that choice, and not judging them for their decision.

These are not the only things we can do, but here are some ways we can model a culture of consent and anti-s*xual violence. How else have you fought r**e culture?
