Women Of Worth Movement Society

Women Of Worth Movement Society We are a female-led organization aiming at empowering, supporting, and bringing healing and wellness to women and society at large

Women Of Worth Movement Society was founded on the basis of self-love by two young women named Nomfundo Msomi and Nompumelelo Khathi. Their journey began in 2015 after shocking statistics related to the high rate of s*x workers, unemployment, teenage pregnancy, and substance abuse in the city. They discovered that these issues go way deeper than what is seen on the surface. They then took up a cha

llenge to restore the image of young women, inspire change, revive their self-esteem, and inspire the culture of self-help. The two founder ladies wanted to build a platform for healing, encouragement, and unpopular conversations in order to afford women the opportunity to share their life experiences, find healing and discover themselves. Both Nomfundo and Nompumelelo believed in the philosophy of self-love, and that by knowing your worth, you can build healthier boundaries, grow your confidence and live a happier life.

๐ŸŽ™๏ธ Our Peer Education Coordinator, Nosipho Memela, on East Coast Radio 94.0 FM!

We are incredibly proud of our Peer Education Coordinator, Nosipho Memela, also known as Nonome Memela, who joined Carol Ofori
on East Coast Radio alongside Okuhle Gwala from the UMngeni Unemployed Graduates Forum, for a meaningful Youth Day conversation under the theme: โ€œThe Meaning of June 16 in 2026 and Youth Perspectives on the Upcoming Municipal Elections.โ€

Together, they explored the challenges affecting young people in our communities and shared their perspectives, as well as the views of many young people across KwaZulu-Natal, on the upcoming municipal elections. The discussion highlighted the importance of youth participation, active citizenship, and ensuring that young peopleโ€™s voices are heard in shaping the future of our communities.

Nosipho, we are immensely proud of you for using your voice, your platform, and your influence to inspire change and advocate for young people. Thank you for representing the Women of Worth Movement Society with excellence, passion, and integrity.

May you continue to be an ambassador for hope, leadership, and positive change wherever you go. Your courage to speak up is paving the way for many other young and marginalized young people to believe that their voices matter.

๐Ÿ’– Congratulations, Nosipho! Keep shining and making Women of Worth proud.

Good evening! A massive thank you to everyone who has reached out and shown interest in our program.

Due to an overwhelming influx of applications, well beyond the spaces available, we have made the decision to close the application process early.
Because space is limited, as indicated on our poster, our team is currently reviewing all submissions and prioritizing specific areas within Pietermaritzburg for this current cohort.

Please note that whether or not you are selected for this specific group, your details are safely stored in our central Opportunities Database if you successfully submitted through the link. We actively use this database to invite young people to upcoming training programs, leadership workshops, and to share future job or development opportunities as they arise.

Thank you again for your passion and your time. We wish you all the best and look forward to connecting with you!๐Ÿ™โ™ฅ๏ธ

This process is known as counterfactual thinking. In cognitive psychology, counterfactual thinking refers to the mental process of imagining alternative versions of events and outcomes. It is retrospective reasoning. It is the creation of โ€˜what ifโ€™ scenarios in which the person mentally rewrites history in an attempt to make sense of, or explain, suffering, danger, trauma, or loss.

Our new article on Counterfactual Thinking is now here - over on The Victim Focus. Check stories or comment for the article.

On the 20th of May 2026, Women Of Worth Movement Society (WOW) participated in the MCP Design Challenge and Systems Workshop hosted by YD Collab for the KZN group. YD Co-Lab - Youth Development Collaboration Lab is a youth development collaborative organisation made up of youth development organisations based in KwaZulu-Natal, Gauteng, and the Western Cape.

The workshop introduced participants to systems-thinking and design-thinking approaches aimed at unpacking interconnected social challenges, identifying root causes, and developing sustainable solutions for issues affecting young people and communities. The process will eventually culminate in presentations by provincial groups within the YD Collab network.

We are grateful that the topic we selected aligns closely with our current advocacy work around entrepreneurship and youth development, further strengthening our ongoing efforts in these spaces.
