🦉 Would you attend an Avian First Aid Workshop?

Parys WADER is planning a practical, full-day Avian First Aid Workshop on a Saturday (date to be confirmed).

Each participant will work with their own bird cadaver to practise essential first-response skills in a realistic, hands-on environment. At the end of the workshop, you will receive a Certificate of Attendance.

💰 Cost: R750 per person

Every rand raised will go directly towards the care of the birds at the Parys WADER rehabilitation facility.

Baie dankie aan die wonderlike mense van die breiklub vir julle pragtige handgebreide voëlnessies! 🧶🐥

Hierdie sagte nessies gee ons klein kuikens warmte, gemak en 'n veilige plekkie om te rus terwyl hulle sterk genoeg word om weer hul plek in die natuur in te neem.

Elke steek is 'n bewys van julle omgee, en ons is opreg dankbaar dat julle deel is van die sorg wat ons aan ons klein pasiënte kan gee.

With great sadness, we share that our beautiful Black-headed Heron did not survive his injuries.

Despite our best efforts, his injuries were simply too severe. Although he was only with us for a short time, he received compassionate care and dignity until the very end.

Not every patient can be saved, but every patient deserves the chance to be cared for.

Fly free, beautiful giant. 💚

Following a final veterinary assessment, we have decided to delay the release of our Spotted Eagle-Owl.

Although he remains in good condition, an additional finding requires further evaluation before we can confidently return him to the wild. As part of our rehabilitation process, he will now be assessed by our consulting Master Falconer.

Our priority is to ensure that every bird we release has the best possible chance of surviving in the wild.

This beautiful male White-bellied Sunbird has been admitted to the Parys WADER Wildlife Rehabilitation Facility.

He is missing a number of feathers and will remain in our care while he regrows his plumage. Once his feathers have fully returned and he is flying strongly again, he will be released back into the wild where he belongs.
