Dear Parys Community Council Members,
As we gather to reinvigorate the Parys Community Council (PCC), let us reflect on the immense potential we hold to shape a brighter future for our community. The PCC stands as a vital bridge between the people of Parys and the Ngwathe Local Municipality, amplifying voices that might otherwise go unheard and driving change that touches every corner of our town.
Your dedication as council members—whether as liaisons, advocates, or project leaders—has the power to transform lives. By fostering open dialogue, you can ensure that municipal decisions reflect the true needs of our residents, from reliable water and roads to thriving local businesses and vibrant community spaces. Each project you champion, whether a clean-up drive, a job fair, or a budget transparency workshop, plants seeds for progress, empowering Parys to grow stronger, more inclusive, and more resilient.
Imagine a Parys where every resident feels heard, where infrastructure serves all, and where economic opportunities lift up our youth and families. The PCC is the catalyst for this vision. Your efforts will not only address immediate challenges but also inspire trust, unity, and pride in our community. Together, we can turn slow traction into unstoppable momentum, making the PCC a beacon of hope and action.
Let’s seize this moment to build a legacy of impact. Your commitment today will echo in the stories of a thriving Parys tomorrow. Thank you for stepping up—you are the heart of our community's change.

Hello everyone,

The PCC is actively working to repair the relationship between the Municipality and the residents in order to restore mutual trust.

The last of the twelve departmental directors was appointed two weeks ago, and we kindly ask for your patience as these teams begin rebuilding their departments to address service delivery and infrastructure challenges.

We, as the PCC, also ask that you get involved—both with advice and action—so we can make use of the people and businesses in our own town and region to rebuild our communities.

Currently, revenue collection stands at 45%, and no organization can function properly under these conditions. It is essential that we work together to raise this to appropriate levels. The Municipal Management has committed that residents will visibly see how funds are spent in their towns. Full transparency will also be maintained regarding all municipal expenditure.

Attached is a poster that the Municipality has asked us to share.

Ngwathe Celebrates a Global Milestone!
Dr. Mothamaha's First International Publication Makes Headlines

The Office of the Executive Mayor, Cllr Victoria De Beer-Mthombeni, extends heartfelt congratulations to our Municipal Manager, Dr. Mothamaha, on the international publication of his research article in the globally recognized Entrepreneur’s Guide journal.

His groundbreaking study, titled:
“Contribution of the Informal Economy at Thabo Mofutsanyane District Municipality,”
marks his first international journal publication, and explores the vital link between informal entrepreneurship and global economic resilience.

This research does not just focus on local economic transformation — it contributes to the global conversation on how developing economies can unlock potential through grassroots innovation, entrepreneurship, and inclusive growth.

In a world searching for new models of economic recovery, Dr. Mothamaha has placed our municipality on the map by offering academic insight that speaks to both local realities and global solutions. His work highlights the power of the informal economy in creating livelihoods, fighting poverty, and building communities from the ground up — an area long overlooked but now gaining global recognition.

As a municipal leader, Dr. Mothamaha continues to bridge scholarship and service, ensuring that Ngwathe benefits from evidence-based governance that empowers the most vulnerable.

We are proud that this international recognition begins right here in Ngwathe — proving once again that great leadership, driven by knowledge and passion, has no borders.

Congratulations, Dr. Mothamaha — your success is a win for all of us!
