The André van der Nest BNR that took place over the weekend was a huge success! 🙌

With the 1-year anniversary of André van der Nest’s passing, it was only fitting to name the rally after him — the man who first brought this incredible event to Mossel Bay. His legacy truly lives on through moments like these.

We are so excited to announce that the next rally will take place on 10 April 2027 — and we absolutely can’t wait! 🏁

A heartfelt thank you to everyone who made this possible. To all the Lions from across the Western Cape who came to support and assist, to Old Mutual for sponsoring the borrowers’ roles, and to Salt and Copper for the amazing food and venue — we are incredibly grateful.

A very special thank you to the blind participants who travelled all the way to Mossel Bay to be part of this event. Your presence is what makes this rally so meaningful and inspiring.

Thank you as well to every marshal and driver who showed up and gave their all, and to everyone else who contributed in any way — your support does not go unnoticed.

This weekend was a true reflection of community, passion, and teamwork. 💛

Mienkie and Blackie has always been kind supporters of the St Blaize Lions, and we are truly grateful for their presence in our lives.

This past weekend, we hosted our first Beach Cleanup of the year at Diaz Beach 🌊 ♻️

While the shoreline was looking relatively clean, we still collected a significant amount of plastic waste that could otherwise have found its way back into the ocean. Every piece removed makes a difference.

A heartfelt thank you to the incredible volunteers who joined us - St Blaize Leos, St Blaize Lions, & Triton Angling. Thank you for standing alongside us & helping drive positive, meaningful change.

A huge thank you to Gastao's Quality Foods (Pty) Ltd. and Matt & Collin's Pizzeria and FoodBar for sponsoring the sliced cheese, and a big thank you to Ronaldo and the team at Bay Frozen Foods or their generous food donations for the firefighters battling the ongoing fire. We, as Lions and Leos, are truly thankful for your support.

Today, the Lions and Leos prepared 160 sandwiches — ham, cheese, and egg — for the firefighters. This would not have been possible without the kindness and sponsorships of our local businesses, and we sincerely appreciate every contribution.

Our thoughts and prayers are with everyone in the Southern, Eastern, and Western Cape who are currently battling devastating fires. We pray for strength, protection, and safety for all communities and first responders affected during this difficult time.

Once again, a heartfelt thank you to all the first responders for your bravery, dedication, and selfless service. Our community is grateful beyond words. ❤️🔥
