WARD 3 ANC BGM CONTROVERSY UNDER DISCUSSION FOLLOWING SOCIAL MEDIA CLAIMS
According to a Facebook ost made about 4 hours ago, concerns have been raised regarding the ANC Ward 3 Branch General Meeting (BGM) held on 30 May 2026 at Mokolo Primary School, where the selection of a councillor candidate reportedly took place.
The post alleges that the meeting was disrupted and not conducted in a fair and transparent manner. It further claims that Comrade Scotch had significant support from members and raises concerns about the overall fairness of the process. These claims have not been independently verified.
In response to the situation, Community Nominated Candidate for Ward 3, Cde. Mr. Scotch has addressed the community, thanking the 524 members who participated in Phase 2 Community Nominations, where he received 294 votes.
He stated that the events at Mokolo Primary School were “disrupted, unfair, and not transparent,” and confirmed that he will be calling a community meeting soon to engage residents directly.
According to his statement, the upcoming meeting will aim to:
• Provide a full explanation of what happened at Mokolo Primary School
• Listen to community views and concerns
• Discuss the way forward for Ward 3
The date, time, and venue for the meeting will be communicated in due course. He emphasized that “your voice matters” and encouraged the community to participate in shaping decisions moving forward.
At the time of publication, no official response has been issued by the relevant structures mentioned in the original claims.
This remains a developing situation, and further updates will be shared as more information becomes available.
