Dear Sir/Madam

Solomon’s Haven, is a registered NPO and service provider, working with physically and sexually abused children aged between 5-16 years old the children are placed in our care by the Department of Social Development (DSD) based on a court order or emergency order directly from DSD.

Through our housing program, we are able to house 20+ children for any length of time depending their individual cases and outcomes of these cases.

As most children are taken out of extremely abusive environments where they are brought to Solomon’s Haven, without spare clothing, personal belongings and in some cases no background information. Despite the dire circumstances these children are faced with, at Solomon’s Haven we have seen, how many of the children who come through our programs were able to go onto to live meaningful lives within local communities’ and healthy family environments.

At Solomon’s Haven, we provide shelter, clothing, food, cover expenses incurred due to health-related issues and transportation to and from schools as well as extra-curricular activities for these children.
Though Solomon’s Haven has been operating in and around Mitchells Plain for the past 26 years, without receiving any Government funding, we have managed to keep going through the day to day donations from individuals and small monthly contributions, however with the ever increasing living cost we are now in need of partners and donors to come alongside us, as we are no longer able to cover all the cost incurred with running an establishment such as Solomon’s Haven.

In order for us to continue running our safe house, weekly food distribution and soup kitchen where we provide a hot meal for more than 1500 people from the local community, we need your help with contributions towards the following: School Clothing and Stationary for our kids

Yours sincerely,
Maria Solomons,
Director and Founder of Solomons Haven
