We have found that some of the most meaningful learning happens when learners are actively involved in the lesson.

Group projects, practical activities, class discussions and presentations give learners the opportunity to do, explain, create and work together, and this
often helps them understand concepts more clearly and remember them for longer.

In our classroom spaces, we try to move beyond simply learning from a textbook. We want learners to engage with what they are learning, build confidence and develop important skills like communication, teamwork and problem solving along the way.
Because when learners are involved in the learning process, the lesson often sticks.

Democracy came to the classroom today! 🗳️

Our learners presented the political parties they created, sharing their ideas, values and vision before their classmates cast their votes by private ballot.

After the votes were counted, Team C.A.Y came out on top with 58% of the vote! 🏆

A special mention to Liso, C.A.Y’s team leader, who absolutely stole the show with his speech. Confident, passionate and convincing!

A great practical lesson in democracy, leadership, public speaking and the power of having a voice.

Taking learning beyond the classroom!
Our Grade 9s enjoyed a workout at the park gym, getting active, encouraging one another and having some fun along the way. Staying active is not only good for the body, but also for confidence, teamwork and overall wellbeing.

There’s something special about seeing our senior class focused, working together and taking pride in what they’re doing. These moments may look simple, but they represent growth, responsibility and preparation for what comes next. Every lesson,
every challenge and every bit of effort is another step forward.

Business ideas in the making! 💡📊
Our Grade 9 learners recently got hands on with their EMS project, working in groups to create their own business ideas and show how the 9 functions of a business would work within them.
These photos capture the beginning stages, with plenty of planning, creativity, discussion and teamwork as each group started putting their ideas onto their posters.
A great way to turn classroom theory into practical learning! 💛

Not even the Cape Town weather could stop us from making memories! 🌧️🚌💛
Our Hidden Halos crew recently enjoyed a day out exploring our beautiful city on the Red City Sightseeing Bus. With jackets on and spirits high, we travelled through Cape Town, taking in the sights and experiencing our city from a completely different perspective.
One of our stops was Signal Hill, where we stretched our legs, enjoyed the incredible views and shared some well deserved snacks. Of course, the snacks continued along the way too! 🍿🍫
From there, we climbed back aboard and made our way along the Camps Bay route, with the Atlantic Ocean stretching out beside us and some of Cape Town’s most beautiful scenery along the way. 🌊⛰️
The weather may not have given us blue skies, but it certainly didn’t take away from the experience. Days like these are about so much more than an outing. They are about exploring new places, experiencing our city, spending time together and creating memories outside of the classroom.
Sometimes the best adventures happen even when the sun doesn’t shine. 💛
