🌸In Her Honour 🌸 Woman’s day Outreach 🤍
What a day. ❤️
Our Honour Outreach took us into the community, where we spent the day checking on animals, meeting their owners and identifying where help was needed.
We handed out food, blankets, bowls and collars, educated owners, and helped with practical solutions for animals needing safer containment, proper shelter, food and clean water. We also identified animals needing deworming, vaccinations, sterilisation and veterinary care.
We encountered a number of dogs being kept on chains, and we spoke to their owners about making proper runs and improving their living conditions. These animals will be followed up on to see how things progress, and necessary steps will be taken where appropriate.
Sadly, the extreme weather cut our outreach short, but even then, the day brought two unexpected new members into our care. ❤️
🫏🫏 Two young donkeys were surrendered to us after their owner explained that he was no longer able to care for them.
Our 🌸In Her Honour🌸 campaign raised R680, and the rest of the food, collars, bowls and blankets distributed during the outreach was made possible through the generous donation from Ashton International College Benoni. We are incredibly grateful for both.
But there is so much more we want to do.
We want to return with more food, collars, better shelter materials, dewormers, vaccinations and veterinary care for the animals we meet.
