🐾❤️ UPDATE: SURGERY COMPLETE! ❤️🐾

Wonderful news! Our brave boy’s surgery is complete, and he is on his way home! 🥹❤️

We are so grateful Kanonkop Dierekliniek/Animal Clinic for helping us get him the treatment he desperately needed.

‼️ Unfortunately, the final bill came to R3,500, rather than the initial estimate of R2,500.‼️

We have received some wonderful support already, but we still need help covering the cost of his treatment.

🙏 Every donation, no matter how big or small, is TRULY appreciated. Every rand helps us settle his vet bill and continue helping animals in need.

Thank you to everyone who has donated, shared our posts, and helped make this possible. You have given this boy a chance at a better, more comfortable life. ❤️🐾

A helping hand 👋

This morning, we came across a plea for help for a doggy in urgent need of eye surgery.

We immediately started making calls to see how we could help, and our amazing partners at Kanonkop Dierekliniek/Animal Clinic stepped in to assist. Then, the fundraising began! ❤️

Thanks to your kindness, we have already raised R1,000 towards the estimated R2,500 surgery cost! 🙏

A very kind donor has also offered to cover the remaining balance, and we are just awaiting proof of payment.

Our little patient is currently receiving veterinary care, and we are waiting for further updates.

We are praying for a successful procedure and a speedy recovery. 🐾❤️

🐾 Meet Snippy! 🐾

On Tuesday, this little girl was surrendered into our care. ❤️

For now, we’ve named her Snippy.

She is still very scared and wary of everything around her, so we’re giving her time to decompress, settle in, and slowly show us her little personality.

She’ll be looking for her forever home soon. We want to get to know her properly so we can find her the perfect match. 🏡💕

Wh***ey update 🤎

Wednesday, he got his nails trimmed. 💅

Today, Sunday, it’s tablets hidden in a little snack — his second NexGard and some more cortisone to continue helping his skin heal.
And yes… this is me, with my flu, still doing nurse duty.

If the weather permits, Wh***ey will also be getting his medicated bath later today. 🛁

He’s come such a long way, and every little step matters.

🐾 BACK A BUDDY — BACK THE HERD 🐾

We’ve done this before.

And if we’re being completely honest… it didn’t take off. At all.

But we’re bringing it back.

Because we believe.

We believe that we can make a difference.
We believe that we have been put on this path for a reason.
And we believe that Whispers of the Herd can become something bigger — something that reaches further, helps more and gives more.

Whispers of the Herd Rescue is growing.

And with growth comes the opportunity to do more, be more and give more.

We don’t just want to rescue the next animal that needs us.

We want to be able to say YES more often.

Yes, we can help.
Yes, we can feed them.
Yes, we can get them to the vet.
Yes, we can take them in.
Yes, we can help a struggling family.

Wh***ey has gained some really good condition! He has been dewormed for the second time, and we believe his condition will continue to improve.

He is also almost due for his second NexGard treatment.

His hair is slowly growing back, so far mainly on the white patches of his body. We’re hoping the rest will follow soon as his health and condition continue to improve. 🥰

His nails will be trimmed next week, and his new cement flooring will also help naturally wear them down.

But perhaps our favourite change has been his personality. Wh***ey has grown into such a soft, gentle boy. He is always happy to see us, but overall he is such a calm and sweet soul. ☺️

His journey isn’t over yet. His ongoing care includes food, deworming, parasite prevention, veterinary care and everything else he needs to continue getting stronger.
