ResQ One Operational Summary | 30 September - 6 October 2026

Over the past week, ResQ One members responded to multiple incidents across the region, assisting with road safety and supporting other emergency services.

30/09/2026 – 14:56
📍 Anderson Street ResQ One assisted with clearing a tree that had fallen onto a vehicle, helping to make the area safe and allowing recovery operations to proceed.

📍 N4 – Between Burnside and Alkmaar Members responded to a heavy motor vehicle that suffered a tyre blowout and partially left the roadway. ResQ One assisted with scene safety until TRACN4 arrived.

📍 R40 – Approximately 9 km after White River towards Hazyview ResQ One responded to a two-vehicle collision. Tragically, one person lost their life in the accident.

📍 N4 – Cairn Members assisted with scene safety following a collision involving a pedestrian and a light motor vehicle. Tragically, the pedestrian lost their life.

ResQ One attended a single vehicle accident thay hit the traffic lights, assisting with scnen safety.

ResQ One responded an accident involving one of our Nelspruit Concerned Citizen’s Moderators. Setting up scene safety and securing the scene as one vehicle absconded from scene.

📍N4 Off-Ramp towards Mbombela, before Halls ResQ One attended a collision involving three vehicles. Members established scene safety and assisted the emergency services already working on scene.

ResQ One Operational Summary | 18 - 20 September 2026

Over the past few days, ResQ One members assisted at two incidents on the N4, supporting other emergency services and recovery teams with scene safety, vehicle recovery, debris removal, and spill containment.

📍 N4 Between Rivulets and Sudwala
ResQ One assisted with clearing a tree and supported recovery operations after a truck collided with the tree. The trapped occupant was successfully extricated by Municipal Fire Services and other emergency personnel on scene.

📍 N4 Between Valencia Link and Karino
Members attended a collision involving a bakkie and a truck, resulting in a significant diesel spill. ResQ One worked alongside TRACN4 to assist with containing the spill and cleaning the affected area, helping to reduce the hazard to other road users.

Members attend an accident involving 2 vehicles and assisted with scene safety.

Over the past few days, ResQ One members responded to multiple motor vehicle accidents across the region, assisting with scene safety, roadway clean-up, and supporting Municipal Fire Services during a vehicle extrication.

Members attended a two-vehicle collision and assisted with scene safety and roadway clean-up.

ResQ One responded to a collision involving two light motor vehicles, with one patient trapped inside a vehicle.

Members established scene safety while Municipal Fire Services commenced the extrication. ResQ One then assisted by stabilising the vehicle, creating a safer working environment for the fire service personnel and paramedics during the rescue operation.

Municipal fire services remain the Authority on such scenes, it was great pleasure working and taking instruction making quicker work of the scene.

📍 Shepherd Road
Members responded to reports of a brush fire with no exact location initially available. Our team located the fire and monitored the situation while coordinating with Municipal Fire Services. The fire posed no threat to nearby structures or infrastructure.

📍 N4 – Kanyamazane Area
Members responded to reports of a brush fire along the N4. After locating the fire, members hiked to the area and successfully extinguished it before it could spread further.

ResQ One responded to a reported head-on collision involving two vehicles. Members assisted by creating access for paramedics to reach the patients safely. Sadly, two people lost their lives,

Members attended a two-vehicle collision, assisting with scene safety and roadway clean-up alongside Municipal Fire Services.Tragically, two people lost their lives in this incident.

Over the past week, ResQ One members responded to multiple incidents across the region, assisting with motor vehicle accidents, fire suppression, scene safety, and supporting other emergency services.

ResQ One responded to reports of a collision involving a light motor vehicle and a truck. Upon locating the incident, members found it to be a single-vehicle accident. Fortunately, there were no injuries reported.

📍 R40 – Between Mbombela and Barberton
ResQ One attended a serious motor vehicle collision involving a light motor vehicle and a truck. Tragically, the driver of the light motor vehicle lost their life.

ResQ One attended a two-vehicle collision. Fortunately, no injuries were reported.

📍 Kaapsehoop Road
Members attended a heavy motor vehicle accident involving a truck that had overturned and come to rest on its side, resulting in the load being spilled. Fortunately, no major injuries were reported.

📍 N4 – Between Kaapsehoop Turn-off and Elandshoek
While ResQ One members were attending to truck accident in the area, reports of a truck fire was received nearby. Members immediately responded and successfully extinguished the fire, preventing further damage and saving the trailer and its load.

📍 R40 – University of Mpumalanga Turn-off
Members attended a collision involving two vehicles and multiple patients. ResQ One established and maintained scene safety while assisting the emergency services already on scene and remained until the incident was finalised by SAPS.

ResQ One Operational Summary, 27 August 2026

📍 R38 - Approximately 40 km from Barberton towards Badplaas

ResQ One responded to a serious heavy motor vehicle accident involving a truck, with reports of an occupant trapped inside the vehicle.

Upon arrival, our members assessed the scene and immediately began working to make the vehicle and surrounding area safe for rescue operations to commence. Due to slippery conditions created by the trucks load, Large quantities of macadamia nuts had to be cleared from around the vehicle to create safe access to the trapped occupant, while the truck was stabilised against the embankment.

Our team successfully extricated the first trapped occupant, allowing paramedics access to the patient.

As the rescue operation continued, a second trapped occupant was located beneath the weight of the macadamia nuts and the truck cab, requiring the whole cab of the truck to be lifted. ResQ One members continued clearing the area creating safe access to the second occupant.

Once the heavy vehicle recovery team from Vanwettens arrived, Barberton Fire Services lead the second extrication, the truck cab was lifted, allowing rescue operations to continue. ResQ One members remained on scene and assisted with the extrication of the second trapped occupant.

Tragically, both occupants were deceased.

Our deepest condolences go out to the families, friends, and loved ones affected by this tragic incident.

We would like to acknowledge the efforts of all emergency services and support teams involved and all other personnel who worked together during this challenging rescue operation.

Members attended an incident where a person had fallen from a moving vehicle. ResQ One assisted with scene safety while other emergency services attended to the incident.

📍 Kamagugu Road – Near Church on the Hill
ResQ One responded to a two-vehicle collision. One of the vehicles reportedly left the scene before emergency services arrived. Members assisted with scene safety.

Members assisted at a two-vehicle collision, establishing scene safety and creating a safe working environment for other emergency services.

ResQ One responded to a serious motorcycle accident. Tragically, the rider passed away as a result of the incident. Members assisted with scene safety and roadway clean-up.

Members attended a collision involving two heavy motor vehicles. One patient was trapped inside a truck. ResQ One members assisted paramedics with the extrication of the patient from the vehicle.

Members attended a two-vehicle collision involving a pedestrian. ResQ One assisted with scene safety and roadway clean-up.

While in the area, one of our members noticed heavy smoke coming from a residential area and proceeded to investigate.

Upon arrival, additional resources were requested and two further ResQ One vehicles were activated. Members worked to extinguish the fire and ensure the safety of nearby homes and residents.
