📢 IN-CONFERENCE TRAINING COURSE REMINDER 📢

Richard Summers will be hosting a training course titled ‘The Foundations of Heritage Law: Implementing the National Heritage Resources Act 25 of 1999 in Practice’ aimed to equip participants with the legal and practical knowledge required to understand, implement and comply with Heritage Management Law.

This course will run parallel to the conference programme on Tuesday, 7 July 2026. A full course description is available under the 'General Information' tab at asapa2026.co.za.

💡📊WORKSHOP ANNOUNCEMENT📊💡

From Flight to Map: Drone Data Collection and Geospatial Analysis for Archaeological Research

Prof. Suresh Muthukrishnan, Fulbright Specialist from Furman University, in collaboration with the Southern African Archaeology Student Society (SAASS) are hosting a full-day workshop on Sunday, 5 July 2026.

Join us on the University of Mpumalanga campus to learn more about the rapidly evolving world of drone-based remote sensing and geospatial analysis as applied to archaeological site mapping and documentation.

The workshop is open to all conference delegates with no registration fee. No prior GIS/drone experience is required, and all materials (software license and datasets) will be provided at no cost.

Participants travelling on Sunday morning, 5 July 2026, are welcome to join us for the afternoon sessions.
