Sisu Siyabekelwa

Sisu Siyabekelwa Sisu Siyabekelwa is a non-profit organization with a donation based initiative in the form of a Drop-in Centre for children in the Elandshoek community.

Sisu Siyabekelwa was formed on 30 August 2014, comprising of 5 members (Office Bearers/BOD), after intensive research was done on the living conditions of the community at Elandshoek up until Ngodwana. The members of Sisu Siyabekelwa realized that there is a need for a centre to be established:

a) To cater for children whose parents work in the surrounding area on farms. b) Also a food distributi

on structure to cater for unemployed, homeless and destitute community members.


3. Vision:

The establishing of better living conditions, hope, life skills, employment opportunities, for our community and to branch out into other municipal areas.

4. Mission:

Improving livelihoods and self-sustainability in our communities.

5. Objectives:

a) Caring and developing children for Grade 12 readiness. b) Caring for and improving life skills to destitute persons. c) Organize donations of tools, playing and working equipment and healthy food in order to offer support to the communities. d) Advocate for rights of the children and the destitute. e) Provide a direct channel to professional in the department of Social development for children who reach out to us with their daily life issues such as exposure to drugs, alcohol and abuse. f) To provide healthy food and clean drinking water. g) To provide a safe and peaceful environment, free of all forms of abuse, drugs and alcohol. h) To provide a place where children can learn and play safely
i) To provide older children (grade 10 to 12) an opportunity to learn life skills, character building and workmanship

6. The plan:

a) An estimated intake 20 to 30 children beginning from the age of 16 months and older
b) An estimate intake of 15 to 25 unemployed persons with various skills between the ages of 18 and older. c) Organise a structure for child development by means of incorporating playing, reading material, tools and good food as well as for the unemployed. d) Analyse and organize skills development with the use of tools and other equipment for the unemployed. e) To submit a monthly report to each donor company on the happenings, changes and progress of this project.
