Four Lenteblomme Klub members entered the bi-monthly virtual competition organised by the Kenya Floral Arrangement Club with the theme “Follow the Leader”. While our entries aren't the top-achievers, we’re still very proud of these brave designers!

Judges' feedback is always gold for learning: (We've summarised it for quick reading)

Taniah Kuhn had the challenging task of stepping in at very short notice to demonstrate at our June meeting. She absolutely aced it with not one, but TWO amazing creations highlighting recycled materials in floral design.

To call her demonstration inspiring doesn’t give her enough credit: Taniah was simply phenomenal and had us riveted to our chairs!
Just take a look!

Foliage, Friends & Fun!
Our June meeting at the beautiful home of chairlady Ansie Cilliers was delightful!
14 members, 9 gorgeous foliage designs to be submitted to SAFU for 2026 calendar consideration, and plenty of learning and laughter.
Special wow moment: Candidate judge Taniah Kuhn stepped in at super short notice and amazed us with not one, but TWO spectacular “Trash to Treasure” recycling designs. Pure inspiration! Thank you, Nattaniah!
Heartfelt thanks to Ansie for hosting us (again!), and to Annie Schoultz Carelsen, Dolla Miller Ferreira, Patrechia Pat Goosen, and Ria for warming us from the inside with a delicious lunch, complete with yummy desserts!
Thanks also to Belinda Janse van Rensburg and her son Nico for the stunning photos, and last but not least, to Christina Van Eck for the opening prayer and fragrant lavender bunchies as going-home gifts.
You are all truly appreciated!

May SA Floral Art & Design Virtual Competition: 'Upside Down'
Seven of our Lenteblomme entered 11 designs in this fun show and we’re thrilled with the results!
Magdarien was our star member, taking 1st and 3rd with her three Novice designs. Angelique placed 2nd in Advanced, and Linda took 3rd in Intermediate.
We’re so proud of them, and of every member who was brave enough to enter. As they say, 'It’s not about the prize, it’s about the passion.'

May Homework Challenge:
Cascade Designs

Following the fabulous teaching demonstration in April by our candidate judge, Taniah Kuhn, on cascade arrangements, our members went home and created their own versions for the May meeting.
The result? 12 stunning designs full of movement, balance, and pizzazz!

Isn't it amazing to see how each person interprets the same style in their own way?
The creativity in this club really is crazy cool!

A huge thank you to everyone who brought their work in to our meeting to share.

Photography by Belinda Janse van Rensburg & her talented and very patient son, Nico. Each design was photographed from the front and side. Thank you both!

Bragging rights moment for our club!
Huge congrats to our candidate judge Taniah Kuhn! Her design in the class 'Ascension' in the recently concluded IFFAD virtual show was named 'Convenor’s Choice' by Pritesh Hasmukh Shah.
Kim Zimmerman of Floral ART Re-imagined reposted it on her page with such a beautiful and poetic caption. Enjoy!
https://www.facebook.com/share/p/1ACcJNa8v8/

This is another interpretation of 'Ascension' from the International Friends of Floral Art and Design's virtual show, 'Enhance' that I loved. It is so cleverly balanced as well.

It was chosen by the convenor of that show as one of his favourite designs and I can see why.

When I saw it, Led Zeppelin's song, 'Stairway to Heaven' immediately came to mind and these words,

'And it's whispered that soon if we all call the tune
Then the piper will lead us to reason
And a new day will dawn for those who stand long
And the forests will echo with laughter'

Fantastic work from Nattaniah Kuhn (South Africa)!
