Youth Day | 16 June 🇿🇦

Today we remember the young people of 1976 who stood up for dignity, equality and the right to education. What began as a peaceful student protest in Soweto became a turning point in South Africa’s history and a powerful reminder that young voices can shape the future.

As we honour their courage, we also reflect on the challenges young people continue to face today and recommit to creating spaces where youth are heard, supported and empowered 💡

The youth are not only our future, they are shaping the present 🧠

Gaslighting can make someone question their own feelings, memories, and reality. Over time, emotional manipulation can affect confidence, mental wellbeing and self-worth.

One of the most important things you can do is trust your experiences and seek support from people who make you feel safe, heard and respected.

Healthy communication should never make you feel small, confused or afraid of your own truth.

For many, it comes with pressure, uncertainty, loss of routine and emotional strain that can slowly affect mental health.

In South Africa, around 1 in 3 people are unemployed. That's millions carrying this silent burden every day.

Let's be more aware, more compassionate and more supportive. You never know what someone is going through.

A little kindness can go a long way.
