🚨New Publication Alert; ️Tracking Sea Turtle Injuries 🐢

From 2010-2022, nearly 1 in 4 sea turtles found stranded along the U.S. Atlantic and Gulf coasts showed signs of vessel-strike injuries (VSI). Most cases occur between May and July, when boating activity is at its peak.

🟢 Green turtles and loggerheads made up most of the VSI cases, especially in Florida and Texas.
🔵 Leatherbacks had the highest proportion of VSI, with many strandings in Massachusetts.

This study highlights where and when vessel interactions are most likely to occur, helping guide boater awareness, slow-speed zones, and other conservation efforts.

How you can help:
🔴 Slow down and follow all required speed zones, keeping an eye out for sea turtles and other wildlife when on the water. 🚤
