We have started this page to bring awareness of our community hospice, please read the longer description for more information. St Luke’s Hospice Grassy Park is a community branch of St Luke’s Hospice Central or Kenilworth. At the moment we have 60 patients that are a cared for in the Grassy Park area. Our branch is made up of Volunteers from all religious groups drawn from the community and toget
her with Hospice Sisters, a Social Worker and Doctors they form an excellent team. Most patients are cared for at home with the aim of managing the pain and enabling patients to die in comfort and with dignity. Our Volunteers run a Day Care facility for patients on a Tuesday, where patients come in and are cared for, given a meal and partake in various activities the volunteers have planned. They can also see the Hospice Sister and Social Worker if needs be, but they are available at all times. We also have a charity shop that is open on a Tuesday and Thursday 9am-12pm. Twice a year the Volunteers organise a day out for the patients where they are able to go out on a day trip which is most enjoyable. The first day out normally happens at the beginning of the year with a trip to the beach. The second day happens later in the year and a Christmas Party is held at the end of the year. The Volunteers take care of different areas in their branch namely, the Day Care facility, our Charity Shop, Bereavement, Spiritual Counseling and Fundraising. All our work is done voluntarily and we rely on funds from our community. We are truly grateful and thank every body that supports us and our fundraising events, which brings in much needed funds to support our patients. We have started this page to bring awareness to our branch, St Luke’s Hospice Grassy Park, to let you know of news and activities that take place at Grassy Park and our fundraising events, where you are most welcome to come and join and support us and the patients. Please share our page and events amongst your family and friends. St Luke’s Hospice Grassy Park
