August has been another busy month for cleaning, greening and maintenance across the Bridge City precinct, with ongoing work helping to keep key routes and shared spaces looking neat, safe and welcoming.

From landscaping and verge maintenance to ongoing cleaning and upkeep, these efforts make a visible difference across the precinct.

Service delivery progress in Bridge City

eThekwini Municipality attended to two sewer blockages on Nkunzana Road recently, helping to restore normal flow and prevent further disruption. Good progress is also being made on the sewer line upgrade at the back of the hospital, with the appointed contractor now in the final stages of completing the project.

The past month was a busy one in the precinct, with ongoing cleaning, greening, and maintenance ensuring a safe, functional, and welcoming environment for all.

From daily waste collection to continuous upkeep across key areas, our teams used an impressive 830 refuse bags over the month - a clear reflection of the consistent effort behind the scenes.

Last week was a productive one in the precinct with both the BCMA and eThekwini teams hard at work attending to various jobs. This included:

✔️ A manhole was repaired on Nkunzana Road
✔️ A blocked sewer was cleared on Nogwaja Street
✔️ Ongoing manhole inspections completed

These efforts, and BCMA’s continued collaboration with the municipality, ensure smoother operations and a better environment for everyone who lives, works, and visits Bridge City.

We’re pleased to report that no crime incidents were recorded in the precinct over the past week, and strong visibility from SAPS and tactical security teams continues to play a vital role in maintaining a safe environment for all.

In addition, eThekwini Municipality completed repairs to fencing at sites in front of the mall, further supporting the upkeep of the precinct.

Thank you to all teams on the ground for their continued vigilance and commitment.

This past week’s cleaning, greening and maintenance jobs included sweeping and w**d removal along Bridge City Boulevard and Iqola Road, and cleaning stormwater drains on Bridge City Boulevard, Iqola Road, and Bhejane Road to ensure proper flow and functionality.
